Need help with rehearsal dinner!

Hi everyone,

We're struggling with finding a location for our rehearsal dinner location here in San Diego. We're getting married in Old Town, but are willing to travel if needed to the location. I'm not going to get into the whole backstory of how the number of guests got be so big, but I'm looking for a location for 80 people with a current budget of $2500 for the event. Casual is totally fine, but it sounds like my father-in-law would prefer a private sort of setting. Which leads me to the problem I've been having: it's such a huge party that we either need to buy out a room (putting us above budget) or I can't seem to come up with ideas for a big enough space.

So sorry for the lengthy post, but any suggestions would be very much appreciated!!!

    Hi there:

When are you getting married?  I had my son's rehearsal (60 people) at a room at the Carlsbad Inn, (had it catered) wouldn't be large enough for you, but there are sister resorts hotels/lodges in San Diego. The woman that oversee's all  of them, happens to be my BFF.  Let me know and I'll see if there's anything available.

Also,  I do custom sewing, so if you're still in need of your table runners, aisle runners, ring bearer pillows, etc, let me know.  You can also check out my "shop" on Etsy, at LDOhearn.

    Good luck, and enjoy!!

    Lisa

Not sure how helpful this is but are you able to hold the rehearsal on an "off day" like a week day instead of a Friday or Saturday night? I'm wondering if that would help you stay on budget. Or a rehearsal breakfast or lunch instead if the rehearsal time can be flexible?

Wish we could hold it on an alternative day, but the rehearsal has to take place on Friday evening due to the Church requirements...
