Whew! So glad to check this off...

Who knew registering would be so hard? FI works at Target and went a bit overboard in the electronics dept. I was initially worried about how we'd be perceived but I think it's obvious he was scanning for himself (no one would believe I want 6 video games). I'm tired of debating it so oh well.

I tried to stick with a theme for each store: Crate & Barrel - home decorating & dinnerware/silverware/drinkware; Bed Bath & Beyond - Kitchen electronics and wedding sets (flutes, serving set); Target - everything else. It took a lot of editing, but I think we covered our bases.

Was registering difficult for you?

yes!  Yuor FI and I were probably inthe same boat...haha.  I wanted to register for a new TV, a new WII fit, video games..my FI had me limit it a tad, but it was a compromise.  I have more problems revising it because I keep getting updates on a few items that have been disontinued (ex. steak knives from crate and barrel) but oh well, such is life.

Yea.  I'm a second time bride and my FI and I live together so we have basically everything we need.  So it was not something I wanted to do at all...but my FI's family wanted us to and to keep the peace we did.  It was hard because I know everyone knows we have mostly everything and if not could get it ourselves so I felt weird asking for stuff.. Oh well.  I'm sure things will work out.  Congrats on your check!

I know how you feel.  Fi and I just registered at Target and BBB and we were a little overwhelmed. Now you get to stalk your registry like I am!

LOL @ registering for video games! I'm sorry you felt stress, we had a great time, but maybe that's because we owned a house already before the wedding and barely needed anything besides a toaster and new pots & pans.

Another thing to think about is the fact that most girls will tell you you'll get far more money usually than you will get actual gifts you registered for. The last month before the wedding I was constantly editing down our regiteries because it was so clear we weren't going to get much at all, so it felt silly registering for even little things besides important appliances.

Video games!! FUNNY!  Yah know if my FI was reading this he probably would be saying "why didn't I think of that!"
We are a DW and really didn't want to register because we didn't really want gifts, just their presence at the wedding.  Plus, we are a little older and have been living in our home together so we basically have everything we need (and I am not a china pattern gal)  We joked about registering at a furniture store for new living room and bedroom sets (but we didn't).

What we did register for was basics at Macy's - new sheets, towels and some tableware and then Crate & Barrel for the decorating and partyware items.
