bridesmaid dress alterations

I need to get a bridesmaid dress altered and I'm not sure where to go.  I got the dress at House of Brides, but they were such a PITA to deal with for the dress itself, I'd prefer to not go there for the alterations. 

I've heard Ms. Couture is supposed to do good work...anyone have an opinion on her?  Any other recs are appreciated!  I'm running on somewhat of a tight schedule...I've been on trial at work and haven't had much time to think about anything else...but the wedding is in less than 2 months.  It's a simple dress and the only alteration it really needs is hemming because it's like 8 inches too long.

    Not sure if you're in the city but I just got a BM dress altered at Mandy's Cleaners  in Logan Square. It's a small set up in her store but she got my dress done in a week and a half and it was very reasonably priced ($40 but I had the whole dress taken in about 2 sizes and she adjusted the straps and hemmed). They have great reviews on yelp, that's what led me there! HTH!

    I used (AND WAS THRILLED WITH) Cori with The Stitch Fairy.  She will travel and come to you (home or work) to do your alteration.  Her prices are reasonable and she did a great job hemming and refitting my bridal gown.  Her contact number is 512-876-6476.

    I've know the "BEST"seamstress! Came for Italy! Many years experience! She is truley the best of the best. You will not find anyone that is better! She can do the impossiable. She is often called in to fix what other seamstresses can't do or messed up. She is utilized by top-notch bridal salons. If something can be done, she is the one. She also designs wedding gowns from scratch. She has designed formal gowns for me that include Bridesmaid, Communion, Prom, and Homecoming. She is the only one I would ever trust with my wedding dress. You can call her at 708-349-6069 ask for Michela.  You will not be dissappointed!  She is the BESTSmile
