...from lurking in the darkness she steps into the light....

Hi everybody!! I am so happy to finally introduce myself. I'm Pickles (jenny) and my wonderful fiancee is Bryan. We met February 1st 2006 and have been inseparable ever since. I am punk/alternative/goth, but am planning a pretty traditional wedding. 

 We have been officially engaged for a few weeks, but he asked the first time about three years ago. We were at my favorite club and he got down on one knee and asked if I would marry him. Well of course I said yes.... but you are asking the wrong person, you have to ask my Dad! I know, poor Bryan. Well he finished school, got a job, and finally asked Dad, who of course said yes. In his words 'he couldn't ask for a better son-in-law.' Laughing

Dad is right about that. I am so lucky that Bryan chose to spend his life with me. He treats me like a absolute princess! I am now rendered useless when I get to a closed door alone, I am so used to him opening them for me lol! He turned this fiercely independent girl into a grown woman who wants a true partnership. So hello all my knottys, I am so ready to share all our joy, drama, fury, happiness, and straight up AW moments!!

    Hi Pickles!  Welcome to the board.  I read in one of my wedding magazines that a girl who was named Pickles wanted a Pickle bar instead of a candy bar.  (It stuck in my mind b/c my friend is also called Pickles.)  So there is your first idea for a wedding!

    I am getting married 9.10.11 in the Birmingham/Troy area.  We were engaged in December so I guess it is a speedy wedding - only 9 months (now 7 months to the day) to plan!

    OMG I love pickles I am eating a hot freestone pickle as we speak. great name. I know it has only been a few weeks but how is the planning or your thought process going? congrats and welcome to the board the ladies here are great!

    zulamay- another pickles- I love it!! 

    shesheduke- Oh we may "just" be engaged... but i have plans! I love Greystone in Romeo for ceremony and reception, I am pretty sure of that one. As soon as I figure out how to put a pic in post I will show you guys my centerpieces. I am doing black and white with a lot of damask pattern. Still trying to figure out the accent color. I wanted Amanda Williams, but every date I pick she is booked : (  Looking into a photographer in her price range  (or less lol) with rights. Still looking at dj reviews. I am soo in love with Rev. Kirk Haas for our officiant. That was the vendor I was most worried about and I am so glad we found him! We are looking at May of 2012, I know I am a little over zealous, but I have know I was going to marry this man since we met!

    Welcome to the board, Pickles!  I went to school with a Pickle.  That was her last name and nickname.  

    It's so great you have so much decided already.  It'll make planning a lot easier! :)

    Welcome Jenny!

    I'm also a black & white bride, our accent is silver. I'm using black & white damask and toile. If you check my bio link below, you can see what I've DIY'd already. Most of it will be available after our wedding in August if you are interested. I don't have the table runners up there, but they are the same fabric as the ring bearer pillow and similar to the card box. I live in Warren if you ever want to come over and look over my "stuff" that is taking up my house, LMAO. Send me a private message if you are interested.
