Color help!

So I originally was planning on my wedding colors being pink and green (more of a bright pink and medium green). Not only were they my sorority colors but they're also super easy for flowers and whatnot. This weekend I went for bridesmaid dresses and we decided on this one http://www.billlevkoff.com/style/bridesmaid-dress/165 They tried it on in plum but I wanted to put them in clover (unfortunately my FSIL has red hair so I can't put them in pink..she'd look like a pimple). However after seeing them in the plum dress I really loved how it looked. The question is, add plum to the wedding colors so it would be bright pink, plum and green, or just stick with the pink and green. I really love the look of pink and green and white and that's how I've envisioned it but for the purple dresses looked great on everyone. Maybe because I won't know what the green dresses look like exactly that's why I'm freaking out? What do you all think?

Re: Color help!

  • Can you go back and have them try on a different dress in the correct green color? That might make you feel better about putting them in green dresses.

I don't think there's anything wrong with having three colors- I'm doing purple, blue and green.
  • I think you could have three colors. That being said, green dresses will really make FSIL's red hair stand out- so you really should have them try on green. That being said, Green is a beautiful color!!!

If you do go with plum dresses, I would make plum your base color with pops of pink and green.
  • I actually think green looks good with red hair.  Besides that, I think that 3 colors is fine as well.  Here is a palette with the green and purple together which you can easily add the pinks.

  • It was an incredible hassle to get 7 out of 8 of them (yes I know that is a lot, it was not my choice to have that many) to try on the dress because they are from all over, so that's out of the question..I think I'm just going to go with the green and bright pink since that's how I've seen it from the start. If only the sample dress would've been in a horrendous color I would've never had this dilemma! Thanks for your responses!

  • Purple, pink, and green would almost lend itself to a peacock theme.. which I personally love!! But something to consider if you'd like to go down that route.  If it's not what you've envisioned, I say definitely bring a few girls back to try on a different dress (same fabric) in the green to make sure you still like it.
