One of my fears came true!!! AHHHH

So I sent out my invitations and did not think to number or code them in a way to correlate the invite with the guest thinking that people are smart enough to write their name on the invitation and a number...WRONG!!! I received an RSVP the other day with no name, no amount of people attending, just "Joyfully Accept" checked. I definitely blame myself for that one but sheesh...who sends something back without addressing it first or at least putting your name on the line...GRRRRR....ok...just had to vent...

Yeah it was unbelievable when some of the other ladies were mentioning how people will forget to write in their names. Hopefully you will be able to figure everything out by process of elimination (or at least you can still give a head count). I decided to write everyone's names in for them since I'm only sending out about 40 invitations.

I'm writing them in also. I did this because I don't want anyone thinking they can bring whoever they want. I'm on a super tight budget & the names on that envelope are the ONLY ones invited. Let's see how this works!

Look at where the stamp was canceled. If it was cancled in Oklahoma and you only have one guest in Oklahoma you know who it is. ...if it is from a place that has a lot of your guests... just play a waiting game for a while and when it gets closer you will know who it is.

Oh my gosh, I did not think of this either. I didn't think people wouldn't fill in the name slot! OH my gosh. I just dropped mine off today, so I guess by the process of calling those who don't RSVP youll be able to figure it out. Man, I hope this only happens with one or two of them!

Thank goodness we did this! I've had to do this for brides before, other than that really never heard of it. But didn't want to risk it!

A friend of mine told me about this same thing happening to her so she urged me to number ours. I haven't had any comeback without a name but i'm still glad i did it. I hope it works out OP - and great advice Amanda.

I'd use the stamp cancelling to at least narrow it down.

Oh no, it amazes me how people don't fill it in. I made my invites, so all of the names are printed on the RSVP card, that way no extra guests and I know who sends it back.

I was just reading about this on the Knot-Texas mag. I haven't received my invites yet, but was planning to write all the names down, anyhow. I may just do the numbering, too.... just in case!

This happened to me! It stinks- mine was a decline- but really, just write your name in! It was postmarked in SE CT where there is a bulk of guests coming from!!

I did read about this on TK so I bought this <<click and I used it to write the names on the back of the rsvp cards it was a lil extra work but just in case.

I numbered mine and 2 came back without names filled in so far. One was my FMIL and I only know that because FI handed it to me and the other was his cousin. Thankfully she still put her return address on it even though I put mine as the recipient and return address to guarantee it gets to me. Then I had another one who put 2 as the # of guests coming, even though her name was the only one on the invite. Of course it has to be his family causing all this confusion! Let the fun begin!! Lol

Oh no! I can't believe some people just don't fill them out! My sister is doing all the calligraphy and I had her number them for me. Its sad that brides need that back-up. Good luck figuring out the mystery sender!

I had an RSVP come back without a name in it and I started to freak out...then I looked at the envelope and saw that they put an address sticker on the front...

I numbered mine but they said "We have reserved ___ seat(s) for you." It seems to be working out as we haven't received any with added guests!

Hopefully you figure out who it is!
