Flowers

Reception flowers

HI, I could use some advice!  I am not doing flowers for my centerpieces, but I am doing them for myself and the girls and all the traditional stuff, for the people who actually carry flowers...but my question is, where else do I need to have an arrangement?  Cake table, food table?  We are doing a fingerfood type deal for the reception.  Any suggestions would be great, so I can kind of know what to tell the florist when I go!  Thanks!

You really don't need to have arrangements anywhere else if you don't want them.  I would talk with your florist and see what they suggest.  Tell her your budget and what you are thinking and they should be able to give you some ideas to dress up the cake table and food tables.  This is what they do for a living...trust them and allow them to work their magic!

IMO if you are doing a fingerfood type reception then arrangements aren't really necessary.  Your florist could always dress up the food tables and cake tables with cut flowers or petals.

Cake table and food table (and bar) could definitely use decoration (but talk to your venue to coordinate this). You might also want some arrangements for your gift table, place card table, etc. And lastly- you might need some type of decoration for your DJ or band, or around the dance floor. But none of these are really necessary.

Ask for venue for a layout of your reception hall, and they should also be able to let you know if there are any other areas that might need decoration.

    Hope that helps!
