June 2013 Weddings

It's June 1st! How are you doing in planning?!

Hi all! This is the first time I have actually started posting on the June 2013 board! But I am wondering where everyone is at in their planning? I have my ceremony and reception venue (they are at the same place), colors, I know my BM but haven't asked yet, and my FI has his groomsmen set. I really have to get going on catering and the photographer.  : /

Where is everyone else?

  • Hi, welcome to the board! I have my ceremony and reception venue (same situation as yours, one place), my photographer, videographer and DJ. But I think that's considered to be a little bit ahead of schedule, so you are doing pretty good! Good luck, and feel free to ask away, everyone is super nice on here. :)

  • Hi welcome to the board. We have our ceremony, reception (same place) and DJ booked and I talked to our photographer yesterday and set it up but haven't signed anything yet. I'm not worried because we used to do a lot of business together in our former jobs. Can't wait to hear all about your plans :)

  • Hi and welcome! Have you filled out the roll call sticky yet? If not, make sure you do so we can get to know you!

    We have our ceremony and reception site (also one place, I see a trend here), our DJ (who books insanely fast), our photographer and our wedding party. Our venue also covers things like food/booze, tables, chairs, some decor, etc. That saves us a lot of work. I've finalized a bridesmaids dress selection but they wont order them until January. FI knows he wants his boys and himself in grey suits. I made a few dress appointments for next month yesterday. That's about it. FI is having a fun time trying to put music playlists together for the reception.

    Hi and welcome! I'm an OCD type planner so we already have a lot booked because I was so worried everyone would book up super fast. We have our ceremony  & reception venue just like everyone else it's one place, DJ, photographer, photo booth which will be a surprise for our guests, caterer, officiant, rings, and I have my dress. We've also asked our wedding party except for one groomsman. But now that we have all of the big stuff booked and done I'm not planning on doing much more until the fall. Happy planning!

  • Like bar10521 I'm a little OCD with planning as well. I have my ceremony/ reception venue. Like eveyone else the same place. I have the photographer, DJ, officient, bakery, and my dress. Our venue takes care of tables, chairs, linens, and food so I'm all set there too.

    <div>I'm with you on the OCD planning. I am planning mine from another city so I have been trying to get as much possible planned now so I don't over stress or don't have the time to do it later. My ceremony and reception is the the venue like everyone it seems. I also have my dress, BM dress, caterer, DJ, bakery and photographer. My venue does the table and chairs as well. My FI still has a few more GM to ask. My uncle is marrying us and I have a close family friend that is going to do all of the flowers at wholesale cost so she is set as well. </div>

  • HI :) I'm also a new face around here.. didn't want to post before my date was set in stone.. just booked the venue about 30 min ago :D We did a visit last weekend and just fell in love.. again, reception and ceremony in one place.. We've started researching photographers, djs and officiants in our price range, so hopefully we can book them before its too late.. Also have decided about the reception type and that we are going to be making a lot of fingerfoods.. so have to start researching recipes for those.. still pletny to do, but I feel like we have a lot done :)

  • Hey all!  I'm planning my wedding from afar (getting married in Michigan but living in NYC) so we did a big trip out there a few weeks ago and booked our ceremony site, reception venue, photographer, caterer and DJ (included with the reception venue).  Just started asking our bridal party.  I've done a little dress shopping but nothing serious yet.  We are a little ahead of schedule but with planning from far away we don't have much of a choice!
