wedding planning

Has anyone used any "wedding planning" book as a guidline? I am trying to find a good reliable one, and I think it will also make a keepsake. maybe, a "Catholic wedding" one,  any suggestions? TIA

I haven't seen a Catholic wedding planning book. However, I will tell you that catholicweddinghelp.com and foryourmarriage.org (it has info for engaged couples as well, so don't let the name deceive you) are great resources and they are free.

The one wedding book that I thought was very helpful and complete was Mindy Weiss' The Wedding Book: the complete book for your big day. I never bought it, I just borrowed it from the library and took what I needed from it. I would imagine you could find a used copy relatively cheap on amazon.com though.

My daughter's godmother gave her the "Martha Stewart Wedding Planner" as an engagement gift.  I know she was given a couple others but this one was the best I have seen.  Tons of pockets and sections labeled for any wedding plans you could imagine.

I haven't seen an others worth the money.

I would suggest Christ on Your Guest List by Mark and Melanie Cameron. It is an amazing book and was very very helpful. I am getting married in two weeks and would suggest it to any catholic bride.

Like Missy said, the Mindy Weiss one is really great. It is not Catholic specific, but does touch on different religions and cultures. I would use it for total wedding planning (including reception) and speak to your preist about specific ceremony related questions.
