NH Bridal Shop reviews thus far!

So I figured since I've done quite a bit of leg work and I'm pretty easy going and carefree as far as brides go.. that I would let you guys know what my experiences have been thus far.

Modern Bride- Bedford, NH
FANTASTIC to work with. I've got a little boy that I still haven't lost my baby weight from. I'm technically not considered plus sized but was feeling far too self conscious to even try dresses on. My fiance convinced me that even if I wasn't going to try dresses on, I should at least go look at some in person (since he said of all the hours I spent online looking at them I hadn't found even one I loved). So I took the plunge and called them and told them my issues. She told me not to worry about it, just to "come join the party". So I did. I drove the 30 or so minutes to the store and walked in and was greeted so pleasantly. No pressuring me, just gave me the low down on what dresses were where. The other thing I liked was that while there were two other girls also trying on dresses, we were not on top of each other. There were plenty of dresses to look at and I ended up finding what may be *the one*. I even tried it on and she made me feel so beautiful about it all. I had an exceptionally wonderful experience here.

125 Bridal- Plaistow
I went there looking for a dress I'd seen online and knew this shop sold the designer. I made an appointment in advance, told them the dress I was looking for, etc. I made the 25 minute drive there.. arrived and was not greeted, period. I stood at the counter with the two girls behind the counter rushing around doing other things looking for a "missing order" of tuxes, shoes, etc. Listened to them discuss how a tux had come in and the size was too big and the sleeves were too short, they found the tux's shoes and said they were also wrong, etc. This definitely wasn't a good first impression but I was willing to give them a shot. about ten or so minutes into standing there, they asked my name, if I had an appointment, etc. I gave them my name, told them I was there to try on a certain dress and would like to look around at others I may like to try on. "We don't have our dresses on the floor, you have to know what you're looking for so we can pull it from the back." Uhm.. what? I told them the one dress I wanted to try on.. and after much searching in a computer and someone else helping her, the deciphered that the dress I wanted to try on.. they didn't actually have. She apologized and said she would pull two "similar" dresses for me. The two dresses she pulled couldn't have been FURTHER from the dress I wanted. Different style, different shape, not even in the same realm (chiffon, not satin, etc). I declined to try anything on and left.

David's Bridal- Nashua, NH
I didn't even intend to try on dresses here but had to buy BM swatches and have one of my girls just eyeball a dress I'd been thinking about having them wear. I didn't have an appointment, but again figured I'd browse the racks. I went in the middle of the week at around 1:30pm. I walked in, there was one customer trying on bridal gowns in the back, and about four associates at the greeting desk in the front of the store. Not only did they not ask if we needed help.. when I asked where I would find the bridesmaid dress, I was ignored and given the "one second" finger by one of the associates who was chatting on with the others. We grabbed our swatches after waiting at the register for quite a while before one of the girls at the greeting desk came over to help us, and left.

Marry & Tux- Nashua, NH
The staff was quick to help, and very sweet. Didn't have many dresses I wanted to try on but they made their best effort and were courteous in doing so. I'd recommend this place to others.

I was really floored overall... I can't believe that some places have such awful customer service. I'm no bridezilla, I don't want to stay for 8 hours and try on dresses.. I just didn't get it. I'm sure other have had different experiences based on who is working, time of day, day of the week, etc but wanted to let you guys know my experiences this time around!

Thanks for posting your thoughts! I'm sure those that are starting their dress search will find this helpful.

I got my dress at Marry and Tux and found them to be super helpful also.

Loved Modern Bride!  Bought the gown, BM dresses, and veil there.  They were super, but their alterations were a bit pricey.

Marry & Tux had good service, but just didn't find anything there.

I had a really bad experience with 125 Bridal too...and their prices are much more expensive than Modern Bride for the same exact gown.

I personally do not like David's Bridal.  I didn't like their service and the quality of their dresses did not match my expectations.

Thanks for sharing your experiences...I think it helps those that are deciding where to look for dresses.

I also bought my wedding dress at Modern Bride.  I love that place!

Marry & Tux was very nice too, but I didn't find anything there.

    Never went to 125 Bridal.

Don't even get me started on David's Bridal.  Let's just say I walked out of there never wanting to try on another wedding dress again.  They made the whole experience dreadful!!!!  I hate that place!  Yes, I said hate!!!
