Cake Recommendation?

Hi!  Does anyone have any advice for a good place to order my wedding cake? We're getting married in Newport, but I'm sure we could use someone in the surrounding areas.  Thanks so much!

We've tried Konditor Meister and Sin so far and both were pretty good. Sin's flavors were more tempting from the outset, but the cakes themselves were a bit dry for my taste. I think we're leaning toward Konditor of the two we've had so far.  We'd do three tiers: Tiramisu, Oreo and Chocolate w/ Chocolate Mousse (Yum). The designs themselves range from pretty traditional to insanely elaborate. Seems like its up to you with what you want to do. They don't do fondant, they do rolled chocolate which we got to try. Tastes much better, but I'm a frosting girl.

    Prices for Konditor were:
    $3/slice for a round cake
    $4/slice for a square cake
    $100 for delivery.

    Prices for Sin were:
    $4.00/slice for a round cake
    +$0.50/slice for flavored filling
    $50 delivery

We have an appointment with Sprinkles (I think they are called Bakery Boutique now) and Scrumptions next weekend.

We met with Wrights Dairy, Toria Dolce, and Corbys Cakes and Cookies, and chose Corbys.  It was the best price and the best taste.  We paid $385 for a five-tier lemon cake with strawberry filling.  No decoration b/c I wanted a plain cake.

We got our grooms cake from Scrumptions.  It was chocolate and AMAZING.  The top was covered in chocolate-covered strawberries.  My MIL paid for it so I have no idea how much it was.  It was for 30 people, and I think it was more than our wedding cake.

Don't forget a RI classic, Scialo Brothers on Federal Hill!!  Our venue is giving us a cake as part of our package, but we can bring in a cake if we want.  I'm only going to look at Scialo's because they are AMAZING  I got my college graduation cake there, it was vanilla cake with strawberry filling and buttercream frosting - out of this world!

We ended up going with Dyane's Sweet Tooth.  Their cakes are beautiful and reasomable.  The cakes are also super moist.

I'm going with Corby cakes for both the wedding cake and the grooms cake. I found her cakes to be delicious....so much so that we are going to serve three flavors. Her prices are also very reasonable! You should definitely check out Aylee's blog which is linked above...she did a really good job reviewing the places she checked out. My other advice would be to stay away from Cappuccino's bakery in Middletown. I found the cakes to be very pricey and the taste of the cakes definitely left something to be desired.

I checked most of the same places as everyone else and felt that Diane Delectables was right for us. I didnt think it made sense to spend so much money on a cake. her cakes are very reasonably priced and I loved the taste.
