Cafe O'Lei or Maui Catering Services?

Hello all,

Trying to decide between Cafe O'Lei or Maui Catering Services for our Maui wedding.  Cafe O'Lei seems a little more reasonable, pricewise, but I can't seem to find their catering website or any good photos online.  The reviews on this board have been favorable, so I know they will be good.  But, I'm wondering if anyone has done a tasting for both Cafe O'Lei and Maui Catering and can offer a comparison?

Also, Maui Catering is charging us $200 per couple for a tasting.  This is not applied as credit if we end up booking them.  Is this normal?  We originally wanted to taste test 2-3 caterers, but at this rate, we may have to just go off photos.

    I'm not familiar with Maui Catering, but our caterers charged $200 per couple for tasting, and $100 was applied as credit if we booked.  I think it comes down to whether serving you can be done as just part of the business (Cafe O'Lei is a chain restaurant) or if they have to bring in the catering chef just to cook a private dinner.  Hope that makes sense!
