Shower Location

I live in Connecticut but grew up in MA.  My sister/MOH is throwing my shower.  She asked me If I would like the shower to be held at her boyfriends restaurant which is in the area I grew up in.  Most of my family is in that area but my FI family is in southern CT/NY.  I feel bad that some people will have to travel so far but I don't want my sister to have to pay for a hall/restaurant that is somewhere in between. 

I have heard of people having two showers when family is in two different locations but I don't feel comfortable asking someone to thow the second shower.  I know the MOG will probably offer when she finds out that the showerr will be a few hours away but I feel bad putting that financial/time burden on her.

Help!  Any advice?

    You shouldn't ask someone to throw a shower for you. If you FMIL wants to have a shower for you and your FI's family, she will offer. Just enjoy the shower your sister is going to have for you - the people that want to be there will be there.

    I would just have the shower where you want to have it since it sounds like either way people will have to travel. 

    Also, people will let you know if they want to through you a shower.  If they don't mention it, don't ask.  If you have it somewhere that your FMIL can't make it and she wants to go to or have a shower for you, she will let you know.

    Let your MOH handle this. If people can come, great; if they can't, that's okay too.
