Just selected our Date - now "Dazed & Confused"

Super excited!  My FI an I have finally checked a venue and decided it is the one.  We have selected 5/11/13 as our date and now I just don't know where to begin!

Seems like so many other bides to be are way ahead of me...I don't know about colors or much aside from we know the church we want, signed up for marriage classes and now have a reception venue.......and that's all.....what's the most important things to tackle first?

    I would definitely recommend searching for your photographer. Photographers and venues tend to book really fast, so that is where I would start. From there, you should probably come up with a general theme/feel you want your wedding to have, including possible color schemes. It's okay if you change your mind, but it will at least give you somewhere to start. =) Hope that helps and congrats!

    Haha I like the "dazed and confused".  You should start looking for a photographer like the PP says.  Then start dress shopping and thinking about a wedding party.  DJs also book pretty far ahead of time, so looking into that may be a good idea.

    I'd say photographer and DJ would be the next big things to figure out and book. It never hurts to look at inspiration photos for every aspect of your wedding :-) I'd also start looking at dresses and potentially ordering one.

    I agree with the photographer. But, I also think it's really important to start making your guest list and budget. Those two things influence a lot of decisions I am making as far as the wedding goes.

    I am glad you posted this. We finally have our venue and date set and FI says , well we are good for now. I said um nope I think its the photographer and Dj we need to look at booking. I am on photographer duty and he is on DJ duty. Should be interesting.

    I would suggest using DJ Melee out of CT since you're only from RI for a DJ. He is amazing and very popular on the CT boards. He lives closer to the RI border and he only charges 40 dollars for a travel fee for over a 60 mile distance. Supposidly he is one of the best in CT!
