Vendor Reviews: 8/13/11 (sorry, kinda long!)

My husband and I got married on August 13th and I wanted to share our vendor reviews:

Reception Venue- The Madison: A+
www.thecovingtonmadison.com/
We were extremely happy with our experience at The Madison! Their all-inclusive packages are awesome and include extra items, such as chair covers and centerpieces. We got to personalize everything down to the last detail. Also, half-way through our engagement, our coordinator resigned and we were assigned another coordinator, Amy, who was amazing!! She really “hit the ground running” with our plans and everything was seamless. Our guests were really impressed with the food and service at The Madison as well. I highly recommend them!!

Photographer- Chad Moon Photography: A+
www.chadmoon.com/
Chad took amazing pictures!! He is very professional and organized. In addition, engagement pictures are included in his packages and you get the rights to your photos. His prices are also very reasonable and he took over 4500 pictures on our wedding day!

Florist- The Wedding Designer (Susan Christin-Foy): A+
http://theweddingdesigner.blogspot.com/
Susan did an amazing job on our flowers! I didn’t know anything about flowers and I really needed help. I told her what our colors were and she picked the most beautiful flowers that matched the color scheme perfectly. She also did our centerpieces and did some decorations at the church. Her prices are incredibly reasonable and she is very easy to work with. Cake-

Cakertainment (Amy Gilmore)
: A+
www.cakertainment.com/
Amy does wedding cakes on the side and out of her home, so her prices are incredibly reasonable. I showed her a couple pictures of what I wanted and she matched the cake perfectly! I highly recommend her!!

DJ- Queen City DJ’s (Brad Berry): A+
www.queencitydjs.com/
Brad from Queen City DJ’s did an awesome job! He is very easy to work with. He was able to read our crowd really well- he kept the dance floor moving all night! Everything was so organized and seamless. I would highly recommend Brad- you won’t be disappointed!

Bridal Dress- Wendy’s Cincinnati Bride: B
www.wendyscincinnatibride.com/
I had a good experience with Wendy’s before the sale. I told the sales lady what I was interested in and she showed me a few dresses that matched my description. The second dress she showed me was amazing and I ended up buying it! However, their “after sale” service was not very good. The sales lady told me my dress would take about 3 months to come in. After 5 and a half months, my dress still hadn’t come in. They refused to tell me the status of my dress- which freaked me out because my wedding day was fast approaching. Luckily, a few weeks later my dress ended up coming in. But I really wish they would have tried to get a hold of the designer to let me know the status of my dress, or gave me a better timeline up front. They really had me freaking out.

Bridesmaid Dresses- David’s Bridal: B
www.davidsbridal.com/
What can I say, it’s David’s. Their service was just “alright”. They had about a million girls in the store the day that my bridesmaids were picking out their dress and got fitted. Therefore, it took them about 2 hours to finish with us- which was crazy. But the dresses turned out beautiful, the prices are low, and the turnaround time is very quick.

Tuxedos- Folchi’s Formalwear: A+
www.folchis.com/
Folchi’s was amazing! We told them what we wanted and they picked out the most classy tuxedo that matched our wedding perfectly. We also had several out of town groomsmen and they did a great job accommodating them. They simply sent in their measurements and they picked them up the day before the wedding. It was seamless. Their service is incredible and their prices are reasonable.

Makeup- Jean Folchi: A+
www.folchimakeup.com/
Jean was amazing ! I am very picky about make-up and I knew I wanted a professional to do my make-up on my wedding day. I showed her a couple pictures and she matched my make-up perfectly! Plus, false eyelashes and airbrush foundation is included. She also did a great job on my mom and maid of honor’s make-up.

Hair- Pure Concept Salon: A+
http://pureconceptsalon.com/
They did a great job on our hair ! Their wedding coordinator set up the schedule and timing for all my bridesmaids, mothers and flowergirl. My hairdresser even installed hair extensions that looked great on my wedding day. Their prices are also pretty reasonable.

Invitations- Chocolate Paper Boutique (Mary Aulick): A+
http://chocolatepaperboutique.com/
Mary did an amazing job on our invitations! She is a graphic designer and designs custom wedding invitations on the side. I showed her a couple photos of what we wanted and she designed the most beautiful invitation. All our guests were impressed. She is very good to work with and her prices are very reasonable.

Videographer- Lifetime Films (Matt Pine): A+
www.lifetime-video.com/
Matt and his colleagues are amazing videographers. We looked at some of the work he has done and we were completely blown away. He is very well known around the Cincinnati area. They were also professional and very easy to work with on the wedding day. We can’t wait to get our trailer and wedding video in a few months! He is a little pricey, but if you want the absolute best wedding video- I would recommend Lifetime Films.

Limousine- MotorToys: A+
www.motortoyslimoservice.com/
We had a large bridal party and needed a limo that could accommodate everyone while still looking stylish. We ended up booking the 20 passenger hummer limo for 12 hours. The service is incredible and our chauffeur was amazing. We had a large break in between the ceremony and reception, so we held a cocktail hour at our wedding block hotel. The chauffeur shuttled people from the hotel to the reception, and then returned them to the hotel at the end of the night. The guests loved riding in the limo! She also shuttled our bridal party throughout the day and she was an amazing help. She helped me with my dress and always made sure we had water and ice. I highly recommend MotorToys!

Hotel Block- The Radisson in Covington: D

Overall, we were pretty disappointed in The Radisson. Our sales manager did a terrible job following up with me throughout the planning process. It would take her about a week to return my calls or emails. Also, the rooms were extremely noisy and small, and some of them had BED BUGS!! Yes, bed bugs. Our guests had bed bug bites all over them- it was very embarrassing. The only good thing about this hotel is that they provided a large cocktail hour room for our guests in between the ceremony and reception, and our bridal suite was really nice (except noisy because it was right by the highway). But the bed bug thing is hard to get past. I would definitely NOT recommend The Radisson!
