April 2012 Weddings

Ahhhhhhh

I cannot believe how fast time is flying, rsvps are coming in and people I NEVER thought would come are coming (flying in from AZ to NY for the weekend!)  Should be interesting to see what my final head count is...yikes.

Does anyone know how long it takes for ceremony programs to come in?  I have precana this weekend and meet with our priest one week from tomorrow.  Any Catholic brides know of good online vendors for programs?  Ill probably try and put them together and order at the end of the week.

Honeymoon is booked!  So exciting.........hope all the April brides are stress free (ive had my moments but currently im going strong!)

Re: Ahhhhhhh

  • Stress free! HAHAHAHA, you're funny. I don't think I've been stress free since I was in grammar school...

It is exciting & fun to see RSVPs come in the mail. I'm getting 1-2 per day so far. All yes's also. We're not anticipating many no's since we didn't invite anyone we're not close with. So anxious!!!!!!
  • I love checking the mail to find RSVPs (although I have found myself disappointed with fi family that you know plan trips to the cayman islands instead and then brag about what a "close knit" fam they are), but I digress. So far all of my people have said yes and that's great! I go through waves of stress - one minute I'm thinking of all I need to do and another I'm just not caring!

  • Stress free...lol.  I wish.

I just ordered my programs from Vistaprint, and they are set to come in 14 days.

  • I know.  We sent out our invites last Tuesday and are getting back about 5 per day.  Not too many no's yet...hoping for a few more haha

I just finished my last final (urg school) before my next semester, so this weekend is all wedding stuff for us.  :)  Not quite stress free, but i did finally find a hairdresser to do my hair (that was harder than i thought i'd be) & also sched a practice when we arrive in FL that week.

As far as RSVPs go, honestly i thought we'd have more RSVP yes, than what we are.  I was worried that i sent out too many invitations, but no.  I guess in my case the 2/3s rule is true (so far).  We invited 145 and our venue holds 100 (but can easily
be upgraded to a larger room for more $$).  Right now, with verbal RSVPs, we're estimating a max number of 80ish.

  • I get so disapointed when there aren't any little envelopes in the mail. lol I have received a little more than half back already, and pretty much all yes's. I wish I could say I was stress free too... I'm still decorating the new apartment and I've been soooo lazy about the DIY stuff I have to do. I feel like it's never going to get done. *sigh*

This is so me!! We haven't even finished painting the new apartment because we both work such late hours that we can only get there twice a week. The whole month is going by without anyone living there. ARGH! Oh, and I am obsessing over finding the perfect throw pillows...but I digress.<div>
</div><div>I have a lot of DIY left to do also. I actually took tomorrow off from work, even though I can't really afford to. I just need a break. It's too much. Not that I'm going to relax anyway. I have appointments, shopping & projects lined up for the whole day. Saturday will be a repeat. When is this going to be over!?!</div><div>
</div><div>And I sure hope the 2/3 rule doesn't apply to me. We're expecting near 100% attendance since we didn't invite people we don't want there. Our minimum is 80 and we invited 94. No one better think of saying no!</div>

our biggest problems...spring break & it's a destination wedding for 90% of the people invited.

Many families w/ kids have their spring break the week before (or 2) and can't afford to take the kiddos out of school for another 2 days or so, for our Friday wedding.  I understand...but it sucks!  I guess that was the risk we took with a Friday wedidng, right?

AND not to mention Panama City Beach has a tiny airport that it's soooo expensive to fly into.  The nearby ones aren't much cheaper.

  • I sent ours out yesterday. One of our friends texted me today to let me know she got it and that she and her FI are definitely Yes's. I said please still send the RSVP cos I like getting wedding mail. Cool

Our RSVP number is not needed for the reception, but for how many chairs we need to have set out. We get charged about $1 per chair for set up/take down, cleaning, etc. So we won't know how much that's may be until we get RSVPs.
