Show me your...

Photographer! There was a recent thread where someone mentioned that their favorite part was looking through photographer's portfolio's. I realized that I haven't sorted through any good wedidng pictures since booking our photographer a couple of months ago.

So who have you booked (or are thinking about booking?)

Here's our's:

His name is Chris. He's been doing photography for awhile, but just started the wedding business a few years ago. He wants to build his portfolio so he's giving us an AMAZING deal =) He did our e-pics free (with no obligation) and if just so easy to work with and can read my mind. He makes me feel so at ease! One of the most important parts for our photography (for me) is the candids. I want to see everyone dancing and having a good time. Well, he specializes in candids. He still does concerts on the side and gets fantastic shots. =)

Makes me so happy!!!

Who's your's?

Re: Show me your...

  • Here is the photographer that we booked!

    http://www.agapehousestudio.com/

She was referred to us by one of my co-workers and we LOVE her work! She used to work for one of the other large photographers in Houston and recently started her own business. We are super excited to work with her and because she was still starting out her prices were very reasonable.

    Here's ours!
I just like her personality and how she shoots. She's been really helpful in other aspects of the wedding too, from giving advice on how she's seen things done to things that I don't really need to worry about. The photographer that I would have cut a toe off to have was out of our price range, but I'm more than happy with the one we booked!

Fun! I like this thread!! Your photogs look awesome. Can't wait to see pics!!

    Here is ours:

We put a good part of our budget into a photographer (about 17% of our budget). It was SUPER important to me. Our photographer is so easy to be around and work with.. and he treats you like a celebrity haha. At our consultation he had wine and cheese and chocolate covered fruit (ah, so good). He has a few Emmys for his work in video editing and has won a lot of awards for his wedding photography. I'm so flipping excited.

  • My photographer is by far my favourite vendor we've booked thus far!!!!

We are using Danielle Tremblay Photography. Here is their website: clicky

Its a couple, Danielle and Brad, who work together as photographers. They had a rough experience for their wedding photography and now go out of their way to make sure no couple has to deal with that on their special day. They did our engagement photos, and did an AMAZING job (they are on the site if you look lol). They are so passionate about what they do and about our wedding that it makes me that much more excited!!! We are doing a DW but bringing them with us because they are the photographers I wanted more than anything :)
  • Yay! Everyone's looks so good! Dead, I was on your photogs page just clicking through to hear music. =P

I feel like such a creeper sometimes. =P
  • We are using Honeysuckle Photography; She has been doing photography for years but just started her own business three years ago, so her prices were reasonable. And, she was so easy to be around and fun! For our E-Photos we went to a state fair and had our pics taken on the carousel, bumper cars, carnival games, even on an antique tractor (FI's request). It made for some fun and interesting pics.

  • My photographer is actually my bridesmaid's fiance. I was really skeptical at first, as I want them to dance and relax and have fun like a normal couple and not be worried about taking pictures of things- but he insisted and of course isn't really charging much at all for a second set of engagement pictures, two photographers for the wedding and reception AND he is going to do the work for the afterparty. Plus he knows FH and I well- so he knows what we want and don't want in our pictures. :3

    I'm a total wedding creeper...lol :)

I'm with PP about budget, we put 15% of our budget to photography so I'm crossing my fingers that they come out awesome!
  • I LOVE our photographer!  His name is Neil and he is british, I could just listen to him talk all day!  He has been such a great resource.  He has referred me to so many other fantastic vendors since he's been in the business so long (he's shot over 300 weddings).

  • FI and I are super excited about our photographer! His name is Mark Cooper and he has a fairly large group of photogs working for him/his company. We are luck to have HIM shooting our wedding :)  He used to be a fashion photographer and you can see that in a lot of his shots. They aren't your 'typical" wedding photos, which is why we love them!
He'll be doing e-pics this spring, the entire day of the wedding (with an assistant) and a trash the dress session for me (for free).

  • I am using Studio 1923 Photography. They are a husband and wife team and were the second vendor I booked...immediately after our venue! They have been wonderful to work with so far.

I have probably spent way too much time clicking through their blog and facebook posts looking at pics!

  • Laur, they're a favorite on the CT board, huh? That's exciting :) Speaking of favorites, I tried to book DJ MeLee (sp?) but in July of 2011 he was booked for my wedding!

  • my photographer works for a bigger company (30+ photographers), but once we booked the company, we had our choice between them all. they all have sample galleries on their website, and after looking through all of them (that took a LONG time), i picked this one:

i also liked this one, and she actually took our engagement pictures, but she was already booked on our day (a year in advance!):

We are so excited about our photographer. She is by far our BIGGEST splurge. A significant portion of our budget is going to photography. My partner is an art historian so the visual elements of the wedding are extremely important to her. www.monikabroz.com She was the first vendor we booked after securing our venue and date. She has already helped us find an officiant, make up and hair people, and the tailor that is custom making my attire. She will do our engagement pics this spring.
  • We're going with FI's best man's uncle.  He used to work for a couple of the big name photo studios in the area until he retired.  Now he just does weddings for family and close friends.  He gave us a phenominal deal and will give us a thumb drive with all the pictures from the wedding at the end of the night.  That way I can do what I want with them and I don't have to worry about packages and whatnot.  Also makes it easier on him because he just gets paid for taking the pictures and doesn't have to worry about anything else. :-)  No website, sorry.

I went to high school with Michael and have been Myspace friends, and now Facebook friends for years.  I've enjoyed watching his photography evolve.  I like the work I'm getting for the price, and know that it goes towards supporting his family.  I checked out a couple other photographers and I just could NOT justify the $8,000 another lady wanted.

Just because you saw it on Four Weddings, doesn't mean it's a good idea.

The very first picture that comes up is the picture that absolutely SOLD FI and I. They're expensive, but so worth it.

  • My photographer Valerie is very snazzy.  I love her style and she is so easy to talk to and make you feel comfortable.  Her pricing is great and she is highly regarded in my neck of the woods.
