***Kristan*** (or any other Europe people)

See, I didn't like Florence the first time I went (it was the fourth day of our trip and I think we were getting hit with exhaustion), but I've loved it the past two times.

I understand what you're saying about kids but you're DH has never been before and he's likely to feel overwhelmed (he'll be overwhelmed anyways), but I can't imagine trying to squeeze in Paris and your little village (sorry, I can't remember the name since it's a different post), along with Spain, some of Italy and some of England in such a short span of time.  I will say again though that Rick Steve's books are amazing and he has lots of inexpensive hotels on his list.  Have your DH read the books and see what his top three things are.  Also, I hated spending the night on a train.  We did it this past trip from Paris to Florence and at every stop, the four of us (two girls, their mom and me) would wake up and wonder if they were going to put someone else in our cabin made for 6 (even though I still have no idea how they would have fit two more people in there.

[QUOTE]It's fun to see the Europe talk! I admit, I'm a little sad to hear people in the daily thread saying<strong> they didn't love London</strong>. We're going to try to squeeze in a trip to London and Paris in the next year or two. (I've never been to either, but H went to London as a teenager, and he must've liked it because he recommended we go there next). We went to two cities in Italy for our HM. We'd planned to do a daytrip to a small village inbetween, but honestly just didn't feel like it when it came down to it. We loved just wandering around on foot in Venice the best. We got lost at least once every day.

That would be me.  It's expensive, the food wasn't that great and it just doesn't excite me like other places.  However, being able to get into Broadway quality shows and sit fairly close for a way cheaper price has been nice (Phantom for $50 and The 39 Steps for $40)

<div>I was a choir nerd in high school and FI is a closet musical-lover, so I'm almost tempted to do our HM in NYC and do Broadway! We've both been before, but never together. And of course if we did that we'd have to drive up the coast and get some real seafood for FI- it is his least favorite part of being a native Texan that we don't have REALLY good seafood.</div>

That's where Bill and I went on our HM.  We saw:  Jersey Boys, God of Carnage (a play with James Gandolfini and Jeff Daniels), Wicked, The Little Mermaid and 9 to 5.  It was so much fun!!!!!

Ooh, excellent points. We might make that a very short stop. I have to admit -- some of my favorite parts of the HM in Italy was the food and wine. I don't know if I can deal with English food for more than a day or two.

<div>Just thinking about it is making me smile. I would loooooove to see a Broadway show (FI has seen two) so that is definitely our back up plan if I can't make Europe fit into our HM budget... which Jeremy still hasn't actually given me. Lol.</div>
