Married Knottties - Wedding Dress Help

So I finally got my poor sad wedding dress out of the bag and hung it up properly today (my photog had cut the little hanging string things off on my wedding day so I wouldn't worry about them showing).  I tried it on and at least got it over my hips and up to my chest. So that's a good sign I guess.  It is very wrinkled and I saw that is is a little dirty on the very bottom. 

I figure since it has to be pressed, I should go ahead and get it cleaned also right?  That is my first question.  Also, I cannot go to Pintstripes in Lewsiville--that is simply way too far for me living in Garland.   Any other more local suggestions?

Could I just have it pressed and not cleaned--I doubt very seriously the little dirt on the bottom would show in pictures.  WWYD?  Oh and how much will it cost?  TIA.

    I thought about it but I would think the cost would be astronomical.  I guess I will if I have no other alternative.  But if the prices I am seeing by Googling are for real, it might be out of the question anyway.

    So I'm obviously not married yet, but I would say if the dirt is hardly noticeable, I would just have it pressed.  That's a lot of money to spend on cleaning if you're not going to be able to tell much of a difference, you know?

    So, yes, Bill with Pinstripes always comes and picks up and drops off your dress. FWIW, my dress was pretty expensive to clean and press, but consider two factors: 1). I had red wine spilt all down the front of my dress that he had to get out, and out of silk at that. 2). You know how many ruffles mine had, so extremely time consuming. That said, I think mine was $300/$350? It'd be worth calling, because your dress might not cost nearly as much as mine to clean!

    I don't have any specific recommendations, but definitely call and get an estimate before you go in anywhere. I wanted mine preserved, and when I looked online it seemed like very few places did that. So I just took it into a Kite's near me that I knew for sure did preservations. It was over $500 to get it cleaned, preserved, and put in a box (the simplest one, where it's not visible at all, no window or anything). Definitely not worth the cost, especially since the dress was only $600 to begin with.

    I really wish I'd called around and gotten prices first. I think just about any dry cleaner can clean and press a wedding dress, although I was a little leery of just taking it anywhere. Still, to save several hundred dollars, I wish I would have.

    I would think that the dirt might not show, so I would think about just getting it pressed.

    You might be able to get the dress spot-cleaned and steamed for a resonable price. If you get it fully dry-cleaned it could shrink--so just be careful. Where do you normally go? Have you asked them and looked up reviews for that specific location?

    After the wedding I had my dress dry-cleaned for less than $100 at the local Martinzing dry cleaners and it came out fine. It was lace with beading, so it was less than I expected.

    I don't really have a regular dry cleaners since I can dress casually for work.  I think spot cleaning and pressing may be the way to go.  Thanks everyone!
