How long does it take to get your hair done the day of your wedding?

My hair salon does not open until 9AM the day of my wedding and the ceremony is at 1:30PM. Is this enough time to get my hair done, plus 6 bridesmaids and 1 mother of the bride? Keep in mind, that I will still need to get my make-up done after I get my hair done. Am I going to have enough time???

It depends.  When my girls went in, we were there for under an hour.  Although every girl (and flowergirl and mom) had a different stylist.  Makeup went pretty fast as well, but we had 2 artists for 6 girls.

Are you doing pictures first?  What time do you need to be at the church?   Just make sure you get done first.  You can start without bridesmaids, but not the bride.  You also don't want them rushing on you.

Have you asked if they will consider opening earlier for you and your party?  My sister and a friend were able to do this and it was nice to have the place to ourselves.

I would be sure that everyone has a different stylist.  It would be really stressful and cutting it close if you are stacking people, you never know who is going to take longer.  If you are rushed, you may end up getting a rushed-looking product.

Make a timeline!  If it seems rushed it probably is.

We have 6 stylists scheduled to do 10 girls' hair. We are not getting pictures done beforehand. The ceremony starts at 1:30 (less than a mile from the salon). Do you think it is cutting it close? Or do you think I should ask the salon to open earlier?

I would ask the salon if they could open early for you.  Like someone above said, if it seems rushed it probably is. Plus, you don't want to have to worry about that the day of and the days leading up to it.  No need to add that extra stress.

I think that's fine. We had to be dressed and ready for pictures at 4pm and we got our hair done at noon. It took about 1.5 hours. The salon we went to had lots of stylists so everyone got their hair done at the same time.
