Wedding Vows & Ceremony Discussions

What do I need?

So we picked our venue the only problem is we have to provide everything for the ceremony, They offer two spots, and a back up in case of weather.
The spot we like is on the patio in fron of a small fountain, I am trying to figure out what all I need to rent, so I can start planning. So far I have
Minster
Photos
Chairs
Music
Runner
Sand ceremony set

Is there anything I am missing for the ceremony?

Re: What do I need?

  • Flowers
    decorations for the chairs/aisleway
An arch or trellis for the two of you to stand under, if you want one
sound system so that people can hear you, the groom and the minister
whatever readings, poems, etc you want for the ceremony
Table to put the sand ceremony set on
check to see that the runner has a rope or string to help whoever has to pull it out
  • It really depends on what your ceremony involves and how eloborately decorated you want your ceremony to be.  For example, all we're going to need is chairs for our guests - we aren't having an alter, an aisle runner, flowers, flower petals, unity candles/sand stuff, a table to put stuff on, etc. because we are simply using the scenary behind us. It might help to look at pictures of ceremonies that you are using for inspiration and try to list what they have?

How many guests are you having? If you are having more than just an intimate gathering, mdeidre's suggestion of a sound system would be really good to have.  I hate going to large weddings without being able to hear the vows.
