unique milwaukee venue?!

I've been looking everywhere for a unique reception venue in the Milwaukee area. I plan on doing a rustic, fall themed wedding & I would hate to get married in a traditional, hotel banquet hall. Initially we've been planning to have our reception at Lakefront Brewery but it sounds like it's already booked. So now I'm trying to find something else interesting in the Milwaukee area. I already know the ceremony will be here so the reception location can't be too far from Milwaukee county.

I like the ideas of:

brick, loft, warehouse, rustic, barn, historic...

I've been searching for places in the third ward since all the buildings there fall under these categories but I'm not sure of any place that's big enough to hold about 200 people.

Does anyone know of a place that fits this description?

I would recommend Schlitz Audubon Nature Center or Cuvee.  Good luck!

I am in your same boat, we are still venue less.  Lakefront is booked for our April wedding.  They are actually booked for every single Saturday from April - November of 2012 Frown.  Unfortunately, we haven't been able to find anything with the warehouse, loft feel that fits in our price range so we are considering changing our date.

If you like the barn look though, you may want to check out  Hubbard Park Lodge, it should be beautiful in the Fall and the catering is the same as Lakefront Brewery.

We were also looking for something unique. Milwaukee has a lot of "old world" style places, which isn't really our thing. Anyhow, we're having our May 2012 wedding at Cuvee. Exposed brick, dark wood floors and ceilings -- very "lofty." You might also want to check out Black Swan in Grafton. It looks like a similar style place.

Cuvee, was out of our budget since we want to do open bar all night, but it's a very cool venue.  We are considering Black Swan in Grafton as well, but it will definitely not fit 200 people unless you are doing a cocktail reception.  We have 150 guests and space is a challenge or we would have already booked it.

Have you looked at South Shore Pavalion?  It meets some of your criteria.

Have you looked into Joey Bueno's (sp)?  Their room had a lot of exposed brick and a nice feeling.

I am have my reception at a night club near the 3rd ward called "Wherehouse." There is also a bar in the same building called Hot Water. We are renting the entire building. Its cream city brick, wood floors, and a large stainless steel bar. Very beautiful and unique. May not be large enough for 200+ people though.

In a different direction, but still unique, have you tried artsy?  Maybe the Sharon Lynn Wilson Center or Elm Grove Womens Club?

You can also try try the Delafield Brehaus. It is about 15 minutes from Milwaukee, but has a more rustic log home look.

I like some of the comments:

    1) Schlitz Autobon is great!
    2) Joe Buona's is nice!
    3) Delafield Brewhaus is great as well!

It all depends what you are looking for. I know I had my wedding at The Riviera, which is a decent place....just depends what you are looking for.

I was looking for something like this too, and stumbled across a place called The Hamilton.  Its pretty new, so there aren't any pictures on the website, but some on their Facebook page, and someone got back to me really quickly with a PDF of rates, floorplan, etc, and as I recall they can host around 200 (and have parking, which on the East Side, is AMAAAAAAZING).  www.thehamiltonmke.com  I think (If not, try Google...LOL)
