Hello! Hopefully these reviews will help some brides on a budget as I worked diligently to keep the costs down for our wedding.
Catering: Dawn's Kitchen in Point Harbor- AMAZING!
If you are looking for catering I highly suggest Dawn's kitchen. She is a lovely individual and excellent cook!
In January Dawn slid us in last minute for a tasting and it was delicious! Her attention to detail and comforting nature make her an enjoyable vendor to work with! We ended up having her cater the rehearsal dinner as well, simply provided her with a budget we were trying to stay within (800$ for 40 people) and she delivered with a delicious meal at an affordable price, she actually came in under budget!
Everyone raved about the food and we were excited to have leftovers the next day since it was so good! Literally, relatives came over asking if we had leftovers.
Dawn goes the extra mile by checking in to see how the wedding is going, offering helpful suggestions of contact persons if needed. She called on the day of/day prior to confirm that she would be delivering the food and at a specific time- great professionalism and extra touch! Also her presentation for food was terriffic.
*Since we were under a budget and small wedding we did drop off service which stayed warm and was a no brainer- set up a buffet line inside the event home, asked three aunts to oversee the operations(who were all to happy to help) and saved a great deal of money!
Cake: Cute & Sweet Boutique out of Durham, NC.
Upon seeing how much cake/cupcakes cost in the OBX I started thinking outside the box. This may be an option for you too- I had a friend who was coming the day before the wedding bring the wedding cake(feeds 120), birthday cake(feeds 16) and 2 dozen cupcakes to the beach (about a 4.5 hour drive) in coolers in her car. Everything arrived great and it was tasty- for the price of 140$ for everything. She even loaned us her stand!

Pastor: Rev. Scott Williams- can't say enough about this amazing guy. He's lowkey, calming yet responsive and full of great suggestions! Really wonderful guy, will cater the ceremony to the way you want it done and then even sends it to you in advance so you can revise and have it exactly the way you want it done. His price was 300$ total which included a consulation, rehearsal and wedding day!
Flowers: Ordered from Sams Club to arrive at beach house two days prior to wedding- we were able to have lots of beautiful flowers for a minimal price. If you have a creative family member or friend you are set! My family and a few friends had everything squared away in an hour (including bouquets, bouts, etc)
Rentals: Ocean Atlantic
Did a great job, easy to work with and when you book in advance watch for sale and you can get 10% off !
House Rental: Angler's Inn through Shoreline
Laura there is great to work wtih- they even discounted the event fee to 700$ when I asked what was included in the fee and reminded them the house has no carpeting and only a few area rugs!  When issues came up (fridge not cooling, ceiling leaked during storm) someone came right out.  Really made for a beautiful backdrop for the wedding to have a reception on the back of the house, we were able to have the reahearsal there as well and put up globe lights all over! Just beautiful inside and out.
We also rented the house across the street to negate the need for a van service so there was plenty of parking as we moved all our cars ahead of time to allow guest parking.
Below is a picture of us on the top floor in a breakfast nook that we used to cut the cake and keep it cool enough!
