How far out did/is everyone booking their vendors? 

We are at 10 months now and I was planning to wait until probably late January to look into photographers, caterers...

Just wondered how quickly they booked - since the venue seemed to book close to a year out?

    Good photographers, cateres, etc book just as far out as the venues do.  If I were you I would not wait any longer, I would book them now.  This will insure you get who you want.  I booked my venue and many of vendors about 10-11 months out, and my photographer was already booked for many of the weekends I was looking at.  10 months out the DJ I wanted was booked and my minister was already booked.  If you get married during the season, which you are, you should book as soon as you can.

    Thanks for letting me know.  I was thinking as much when the venues were all booking up.  I was just hoping to have the holidays off.  But really no harm is starting to look around now and get the process going so I dont' have to run around like crazy later on.

    I booked as many vendors as possible within the first month we got engaged. My key vendors I wanted to lock in right away were the venue (our caterer is on site), photographer, videographer, DJ, DOC and florist. In  my opinion it's never too soon to book the people you want.

    I am so thankful that my site includes mostly everything I want for our day. We booked about 1 year in advance and most of the dates we wanted were booked by then!

    The only think I am really having a tough time deciding the a photographer. It just really isn't in our budget to spend thousands on a photographer (although I would like to!) ::Sigh::

    We booked the majority over one year out.  At the one year mark almost all our vendors were booked up so I am glad we got to it early!  Good luck!

    I would do it ASAP! We booked our venue about a year out, and same with the photographer. hair and makeup I waited until about 2 months out, and flowers about 5 months. DJ was probably 9 months out. I wanted to make sure that I would get the best pick of vendors as my venue was already booked up for our month and we ended up having to change our date.
