Workout Accountability: Wednesday

Good morning and happy first day of summer!

It is already ridiculously hot here - the next three days are going to be rough.  Thankfully week four is a 'recovery' week, so there were already no strenuous exercises planned for the week.  Stretch x was great last night, and actually a bit tougher than I thought it would be.  I did the 10 min-100 cal workout after that just to catch up with the delicious sandwhich I had for our team luncheon at work.  I picked a healthy one, just more calories than I had planned.

Today is core synergistics, and I've officially decided to take on doubles in week 5 (which is when the doubles program breaks off from classic.)  I'm nervous but really need something to push me off of this plateau.

How are you all doing this morning?
Anniversary

Re: Workout Accountability: Wednesday

  • Way to go with the doubles Lbsters!
No workout for me today, running around crazy trying to get ready to leave for Vegas in the am, run erands, go to a dress appointment tonight and oh yea, work ;)

I hope everyone has a great weekend, and stay hydrated!!

  • Good luck on pushing through the plateau!  So frustrating when you hit them, and such an awesome feeling when you finally get moving again.

It's ridiculously hot and humid here this week too, and I have the misfortune of not having any AC in the house I live in.  My fans are working overtime, but it doesn't really help with the humidity.  Ugh.

Worked out with the PT this morning!  Woke up with my left shoulder being pissed off, so we took the shoulder stuff kind of easy, but that sure as hell doesn't stop him from finding fun ways to torture me.  I love my PT.  He's brutal, and pushes me so hard, but I feel fantastic afterwards.  On the plus side, I felt better today about myself and think I've lost some inches/weight.  We'll see when I check in tomorrow morning!

Food has been very clean for 3 days now.  I've got to get through today and tomorrow and then friday is a cheat day!  I've been allowing little treats - like a cookie a day - to prevent major breaks.  We'll see how it goes!
    Have a great day ladies!
  • Good morning! I've been more of a lurker on this board and finally a week ago decided to cut out all high carb and junk foods. I haven't had time to work out much because of my crazy work schedule but once it becomes more "normal" I plan on getting back to running. So to date I'm down 3 lbs! Only 12 more to go.
Hopefully I won't fall off the wagon this time.

Good luck with everyones goals!! :)

  • You're not kidding about this heat!  It is going to be BAD.  Last night the gym felt like a sauna.

I haven't posted in a few days - I'm 13 days away from the big day, so I'm really in crunch mode.  The good news is that while I'm slacking on my posting, I am not slacking on my workouts.  Yesterday morning I hit spin class, and last night I lifted back & shoulders.  This morning we lifted biceps/triceps, and took another spin class.

Last weekend was supposed to be my final fitting, however, the dress needed to come in some more in the waist.  Sooo, this weekend is the real final fitting.  It's kind of a pain because my dress shop is by my parents' house, which is 2 1/2 hours away, but I think it's a good PITA to deal with since it means my hard work is paying off!

    Have a great hump day!

Good luck on breaking the plateau!  Its such a rewarding feeling to get through that.

This morning worked out with the PT.  Woke up with an angry shoulder, so we took it easy on those, but my PT has a million other ways to torture me.  Which is awesome, I heart him(though I know that workout style isn't for everyone).  He busts my butt, makes me work for it, but I usually feel great afterwards.

Food has been clean for 3 days!  I've gotta get through today and tomorrow and then I can give myself a break on friday.  I've been allowing myself little treats here and there - one cookie, etc - to prevent any binges.  We'll see how much progress has been made tomorrow AM!
  • Morning!

last night I got swept away doing wedding stuff...and none of the fun stuff either, emailing and setting up appointments working on addresses that kind of stuff before I knew it, it was after 9pm and too late to hit the gym...blah!

tonight I meet with our wedding planner who is also a friend (which is why I was so motivated last night so I could show her today that we ARE making progress from her check list) but the meet time means I wont have time tonight to gym either, might try and get off the subway earlier and get a walk in.

I feel you guys with the heat issues, at 6am is was already 30 degrees here (86F)
    yuck.

  • Good morning!

Yesterday was a bad workout day for me. I didn't get a walk in at work because I had too much going on, and then 25 minutes into my workout at the gym I get a call from my FI that his car broke down at work and he needed me to pick him up.

    So...workout fail.

Today I'm hoping to get my work walk in and then I'd like to do at least an hour on my bike later.

  • Good morning all! I can't see where everyone else is, but it is hot as hell here in Houston. We did legs at bootcamp this morning, which is always intense, then I ran 2 miles. Eating was good yesterday but I had a little bit of wine at the end of the night when H got home from his Wine class. They had an '88 Sauternes that I couldn't not taste.
  • Welcome to the board Getting2Vowels!

Well...work out fail for me this morning. My FI got paged out and was working downstairs all night and I could not get back to sleep until like 3AM. So when my alarm went off at 5AM this morning, I didn't get up. I am so mad at myself. It's going to be like 95 out here today so it will probably be too hot to run outside after work. And now I had to readjust my calories for the day. Ugh!

Ugh, just having a frustrating week and can't seem to get back on track.  Skipped my lunchtime walk yesterday because of too much to do at work, and then only got in a 20 minute bike ride last night to the grocery store and back.  Also ate, like, 6 double stuf oreos after dinner for no other reason than they were there.  Today it's supposed to hit almost 100, so I don't think I'll be walking at lunch.  I don't actually mind the heat, but I probably shouldn't go back to work quiiiiiite so sweaty.   Cardio/weights class at the gym tonight, and a healthy dinner, so the day overall should be ok.  Not psyched to see the scale tomorrow though.   I've lost weight plenty of times before (like 30 lbs, then I gain it back, then do it again--terrible,  I know), and it's never been this hard.  I thought it would be easier than ever since I have the wedding/honeymoon as such huge motivation!  But I'm just not feeling it.
  • Morning ladies!  I think I'll start posting here as well.  I'm always looking for advice and motivation :)

I've been doing good with my MFP calories and everything.  I did 1 hour of kickboxing last night, 1 hour of bootcamp this morning and then I will be doing 1 more hour of kickboxing tomorrow after work.  Tomorrow is FI's birthday so I'm taking him to an awesome restaurant, meaning apps, dinner, dessert...so I hope I can keep myself somewhat in check!  I'll be doing a long run (7 miles) this Saturday morning.

  • @katred - I know what you mean. I had chocolate chips in my fridge from some cookies I made last week for a baby shower. And every time I opened the fridge while I was making dinner last night I kept eating them! For no other reason other than they were sitting there, totally accessible. I did have extra calories yesterday, but still I shouldn't be using it for those. When I realized I couldn't stop eating them I threw them in the trash. Where did my will power go?!! Over the past couple weeks I have been snacking like crazy I don't know what my problem is.

  • Maybe posting will give me some more accountability also! I recently started back running again about 3 weeks ago after a neck injury and so far I have ran 2 miles every day except for on sundays when I take a break. I run in the mornings otherwise I probably would be slacking alot more and have excuses in the evening. I'm excited though, so far I can tell a huge difference in everything and even fit back into some old pants! yaaay! I've also made myself quit buying snacks "for FI" so that there's nothing in the house bad to snack on for either of us. Thanks for all the motivation on this board!

  • Way to go jrooks! I had to do the same thing with my FI and he is slowly starting to eat better ;)

No workout for me today, got crazy running around to do, work and a dress appointment tonight all before I leave for Vegas in the am. Doing great with my eating though, and I wil be working out at the confernce, so no worries there!

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

  • I also had a bad day yesterday but it mostly centered around food.  Had a crappy day at work and as a result ate like crap.   We had a lunch meeting where they went over our department reorg (which caused the bad day).  Pizza at the meeting as I was unhappy I had 2 slices.   For dinner didn't feel like cooking so we order Thai food in, I made a relatively healthy choice with the meal but added a glass of wine and a bowl of pudding for dessert.     I know one bad day isn't the end of the world today will be better.

Spent 35 minutes on the elliptical this morning.

  • I was super excited yesterday and today.  I was 1 calorie under my calorie goal yesterday!  AND I had been between my 3rd and 4th belt loop and it went to the 4th today.  Yay!!

  • wow, looks like most of us are struggling this week.

to add to my lack of workout guilt, my boss' boss brought me specifically  special GF cupcakes to our monthly meeting because she feels bad that I can't eat the other baking that is brought in to share.

it is an incrediably sweet and kind gesture to make sure I am included but at the same time I felt like I HAD to eat at least one because she went so far out of her way to accomodate me and my allergies.

at the end of the meeting she packed the cupcakes up and gave them to me....now I have 5 delicious temptations sitting on my desk.....crap its going to be a long day.

  • @GettingtoVowels - Congrats! I also started to really track last week and am down 2.5lbs. Way to go!

@souptin  - I hear you! Hard to know what to do when someone give you a special treat like that...

Wow - it really does look like everyone is having a tough week. Me too! I did OK on Monday and was excited at my 2.5lb loss after my first week.

It's been downhill from there. Yesterday was really stressful with meetings for my job all day, along with some big stresses in our own small business and a meeting that went until 10PM and then a long drive home. I started off with healthy snacks in my car for breakfast and lunch, but was starving again by 4 and stopped at Panera. I managed to contain myself to just whole grain bread and black bean soup, but I got killed when my meeting later was at a pub type restaurant and I ended up having a glass of wine and 1/2 of a thin crust pizza.

Not sure about today either. I have a great breakfast and lunch, but I have to go stand outside the Phillies game for 3 hours with a food drive (I work at the food bank) tonight. I seem to do alright planning out for a healthy breakfast and lunch, but when I am away from home for all three meals and get stuck eating at odd times, not so much,

  • Hey everyone!

I am feeling in a slump this week - but it doesn't appear as though I am alone! yesterday I did all of NOTHING. Lazy as poo. Didn't even walk the dog because someone else did and so there went my reason for exercising, right out the window.

Today I am going to go running. I must. No excuses! The scale has crept up a bit this week so far, and I am sure it's from the lack of exercise. Last time I really worked out was Friday! My eating hasn't been terrible, but I know that the scale moves in the right direction when I'm exercising too.

Time to stop allowing myself to be undisturbed by negative progress! I'm goin' out!

  • I only have AC in my bedroom so I'm dying right now.  The heat messes with my blood sugar, too, so I feel like I'm eating a lot.  I'm making sure I drink a TON of water at least.  Maybe I'll lose weight from sweating?

Bring yourself a small granola bar!  I like the Fiber One Oats n Chocolate...they're SO yummy and only 140 calories!  I actually brought one with me the last time I went to a baseball game and ate that insead of the usual pack of roasted almonds.  If you have something small but that will fill you up, you're less likely to spiral out of control later :)

  • I feel so guilty for not working out when ever I read these....   But I guess that's the point!

Still hard core on the diet :)   I did have pop corn last night with my son though :(

Working out still consists of a trampoline...  But I don't have much time for anything else...

Tomorrow is my day off so I do plan on going to the gym at least once if not twice.
