Looking for unique venue ideas

We are planning a wedding in the first part of March and looking for a small venue where we could possibly get married.  This is both our second marriages and we'd love to find one place where we could "elope" and get it done without a big production.  It will be the two of us, and my children, who will be 14 and 8.  We are looking for ideas somewhere in the middle of the courthouse and a fancy wedding.  Any ideas out there?  We'd love to find a loft-type place where we could have someone come marry us and maybe have a private dinner.  Or a B&B that does the ceremony too.  We're open for options.

Thanks for your help!!

Oh! What about Lydia's in the FreightHouse. Terrific food and some great space options (even outdoors too!) ... and a romantic setting in my opinion. Another option might be in old Parkville. There is a restaurant on the hill and I can't for the life of me remember the name. But very quaint. Up the hill (almost) from Stone Canyon pizza place.

    Sounds lovely!

Loose Mansion can close off rooms to make smaller event spaces and you can get married there and they have their own chef.  It's gorgeous inside!

Although it's further away, than KC, we're getting married at the chapel on KU's campus... it's fairly inexpensive, and it's small... I think the capacity is 70 people. Then there are neat places around Lawrence you could have a nice dinner, or the alumni association on campus has smaller rooms you could rent. We originally looked around KC, but the problem we kept running into is that so many places are so expensive and our budget is pretty tight

Piropos!  Amazing!  My favorite place to eat in KC.
