GPWM

Hi all! I'm having my ceremony and reception at the Grosse Pointe War Memorial in October 2012. We haven't done much besides put down the deposit, and I was hoping to obtain a few pointers from any of you who have had your weddings there.

    I am in the same boat except our wedding will be November 2011! We are having a small wedding (100ish people) in the Alger House.

    Congratulations! It's so exciting, isn't it? :)

    Ours is going to be big. We haven't sent out invites yet but we have the big reception room so regardless we'll be paying for 175 people minimum. Though I am jealous as I LOVE the Alger House.

    Who are you working with there? I worked with Cheryl Armijo when I initially started everything.

    I had my wedding there and it was great!  I would recommend that you make sure you are very clear about your expectation for their coordinator and what you will be doing that might be different than their "way of doing things".  They are a little set in their ways, when it comes to table placement, etc.  I highly recommend you get a DOC (Day-of-Coordinator) to communicate with the staff on the day of your wedding.  Have a wonderful day!
