As far as whether or not you should do it--that depends on you and your fiance and the "look" you want for your wedding. Plastic dishes will be more casual, so if you're fine with that, then go for it. If you're thinking of a semi-formal evening banquet with a dance, you should probably go for the china.   Yep, it just depends on the look and feel of your wedding.  I think you can go either way on this one.  If you're having a more casual wedding, I don't think it's tacky at all.

  I think that's okay as well. If I were a guest, I don't think I'd even notice if the plate was plastic.

  Party America has plates that look like fine china. (Cream with a gold rim) We used them at our RD and I didn't know they were not real until I went to put my food on it and it was light.
