Ocean ceremony locations?

Hi there! Can anyone suggest some nice ocean / beachfront ceremony locations that will accommodate small parties of about 20-30 people? Or is there a place where I can find a list of venues?

We just decided on a beach wedding so I've hardly even begun planning, but I'm already overwhelmed at all the choices! (Especially since we're not limited to the San Diego area). I would prefer an ocean view but don't necessarily want to get married on the sand.

Thanks so much in advance!

I would look at parks that overlook the beach.  What is the size of your wedding? The wedding bowl in La Jolla is a popular spot but it is for a smaller wedding.  There's a park at sunset cliffs that's a popular spot for ceremonies. Also Seagrove park in Del Mar is beautiful and you can have more people there.  Look up the city of San diego and city of Del Mar on the web and go to their parks/permits page.  They will have a list of parks available for events and the number of people you can have at each.  Also, depending on your price range, you can get married on the back lawn at the Del with the beach in the background, or at Shutters in the LA area.  At Shutters there are a few options of ceremony spots with the beach in the background. If you're on a smaller budget, the Naval bases are a great option. You need a military member to sponser you, but if you can get that, there are some cool reception spots either on the beach or overlooking the bay at a great price.

Thanks for the great tips! At least this gives me a good starting point, since I really have no clue about California venues. My wedding size is pretty small, about 20 people so some of the smaller venues you suggested might be perfect. I will definitely look into these locations.

As soon as I read your post I immediately thought of the Wedding Bowl in La Jolla as well.  It's GORGEOUS.  I wanted to get married there but the amount of guests I am inviting could not accomodate it.  Best wishes.  Keep us posted.

The Wedding Bowl!! I think that's where we're going to tie the knot and it is absolutely gorgeous! I too am having a small wedding with about 25 people and this location is perfect.
