Bridal Shoes and Close Honeymoon Destinations

Where have yall looked for shoes? I am looking for "Bridal ballet slippers", we are having an outdoor wedding and i'm a serious clutz, I have to walk down a hill to get to the lake, where the ceremony is and I know in heels i'd break my neck. I think it would be so cute to have a cute pair of white flats, but I cannot find any! All the bridal shoes i've looked at have been heels.

We still have a little under a year to go, but i'd like to go ahead and get the shoes so that I can get my dress hemmed (i'm really short).

Also do yall know of any close honeymoon destinations? We would love to go to the beach, but  since we only have 3 or 4 days to go on a honeymoon and come back, we don't want to spend the first and last day in the car.

Tybee!  I love Tybee....it's just past Savannah so like 5 hours?  I mean, it's not the most romantic place in the world but it's so fun - and you park your car and just leave it there --- and walk everywhere!

That would be ideal, except that I just got back from there and was in an accident down there and the time before the gears fell out of the transmission so I seem to have bad luck down there. LOL

Yeah I agree with PP about Tybee lol. I go to school in Statesboro so we hit up Tybee a LOT and it is not that great. I mean, it's better than no beach, but it just lacks what I would want in a honeymoon and plus you said you were just down that way.

If you want to head to the beach, I'd suggest bypassing Savannah and going down to St. Mary's GA, Fernandina, FL. Its only about 2 hours further and a much prettier beach than Tybee. St. Mary's is the 2nd oldest city in the US, settled by the Spanish just after St. Augustine.

<div>We're spending one day there! Wedding is on Saturday and our cruise leaves from Charleston on Monday, so we'll head up there Sunday afternoon and stay the night. I'm looking forward to going, since I've never been there before. FI is dreading all the tours and such I'll make him go on. I'm such a history nut. haha</div>

I like both of your ideas too! I will get with FI when he gets off work later and see which he likes! I forget it's his honeymoon too!

I have never been to St. Mary's or Charleston!

Charleston is great.  Think of it as a safer, cleaner (but slighly higher pricing) location than Savannah. If your hubbies (or hubby-to-be's) are dreading tours...tell them that Charleston has a large ghost/pirate history as well.

He would love that! I'm the history buff that's like "oh hey tours" and he's like, "Ugh seriously?" haha!

Do you know of any good places to stay at the beach that are reasonable?

Charleston is very cool and would be a fun place to go.

If you wanted something different, what about Asheville?

<div>You're gonna hate me...I dated Paula's son Jamie's wife Brooke's little brother! (trust me, it sounds distant, but it wasn't!) I go to school in Statesboro and me and him would drive down to Savannah every couple of weekends. We used to hang out at Jamie's a lot and I went to Paula's once for dinner. She made some cajun spaghetti, which was to die for. I also got VIP passes to the restaurant, but honestly I was never super impressed. Maybe because I always got the buffet..idk.  Eating there with her was so annoying though, because every 10 seconds someone would come over and ask for an autograph  She really does talk like that and is super sweet in person, even with no make up on and her hair in a turban. The whole family is wonderful. That guy and I broke up, but it was fun to be tied to someone famous for a little while! I'd never want that life though. Much happier with my simple, easy pleasures. </div>

My FI LOVES Paula! He is forever telling himself he can cook just like her if he puts his mind to it. Bless him!

So I think Charleston it is or St. Mary's! Since neither of us have ever been to either of those places!

Thanks for all your help!! Sadly most of the places I found don't let me book this early but I will just as soon as I can! It would be great to get that checked off and out of the way!

shoes- I am also looking for flats and I found some satin flats (I think they are steve madden) for around $50 (I can't remember) at DSW.com        I'm considering the dark blue ones for my something blue.  I might wear white fit flops though (with little flowers on them ; because that is the most comfortable shoe ever!

Google exactly what you want, and you will probably find them pretty easily. I googled "blue pumps" and ended up finding my exact color!

Another honeymoon possibility, the gulf coast of Florida is about 5 hours. We just got back from Watercolors and it was awesome. The town was called "Santa Ana Beach" -- other ones near there are Seaside, San Destin and Destin.
