Hotel Collection bedding and towels- are they worth it?

Registered at Macy's, got sucked in by the salesperson to register for Hotel Collection betting and towels, convinced that we'll never buy any other brands because these are the greatest things since sliced bread, they go on sale all the time, people will want to spend this ridiculous amount on money on these amazing items for our wedding, yadda, yadda, yadda.

But really, are they worth it? Those are some spendy items!

And do you recommend another nice brand that I should look into at Macy's?

Thanks!

[QUOTE]We love the hotel collection towels, on sale they are not too expensive and you use them everyday! For sheets I stuck with charter club, damask 500 thread count. These work well for us but I cannot justify the cost of the hotel collection sheets...maybe some day.

This is what we registered for and a little more than a year later I was mending the seams on the fitted sheet because they were ripping and falling apart.

We registered for HC towels and originally the bedding as well. However, even though the sheets go on sale, they don't come as a set so they are still super expensive. We registered for 800 thread count Charter Club sheets that look really nice and are much more reasonable.

  • We registered for the hotel collection and they are super nice. I agree that they do go on sale on a lot. Honestly, after watching our registries for several months now I noticed that a lot of things go on sale at Macy's on a regular basis - they are good sales, too.

Macy's is tricky..when things go on sale they are usually at the same exact cost as BBB. If you've got coupons, etc. you'll get a better deal, you just have to be a bit more patient. Good times to buy = holidays and watch for all their little "one day" sales.
