Opinions please! =)

I just had breakfast with my step-mom, and now that I've picked BM dresses, she really wants to help me make jewelry for the girls.  Which is good, because she has all the tools & is good at it!  But I need to decide what I want to do.  That's where you all come in.  The dress looks like:
So, would a pearl necklace with green ribbon ties look good?  Or would something like this look better:
It's kind of hard to tell, but those beads are all green glass.

Also, I have been thinking about a way to incorporate my students into the wedding (someone asked me if I was having them help make decorations, lol).  I was thinking, since we're doing a candy buffet and kids & candy go together, of having the kids write the labels for the different types of candy.  Cute idea?  Or not so good?  What do you think?

I like the pearl idea better. But i also not a big fan of necklaces like the other.

For the kids i think that wouls be cute. You could also have them paint a wedding sign or two.(Wedding this way--- />)

I like pearls better too - I think they would be just perfect with matching green ribbon... I would love if I got to wear something like that. I think the green glass necklace is just a bit too matchy matchy.

I also like the idea of incorporating the kids with the candy table. I think maybe what I would do is have the names of the candy printed out in a kid-ish font and have them color what they think the type of candy looks like. That way you won't have to worry about your guests being able to read what the type of candy is.

Also, I think it would be cute to just have them draw pictures of you getting married and whatnot and use the drawings to decorate the candy table.

I would do pearls. Have you looked maybe at colored pearls? There's a huge variety of shades and that might make it a little fun and funky without being too costumey. I'm not too fond of the glass beaded jewelry.

i think you should do the pearls too.

i like csartini's idea of you printing the name and then they can decorate.

    That's really nice of her!

I adore sea glass.  I think it adds character, and is something I personally would be more likely to wear than pearls.  But I agree that all green may be too matchy-matchy, so what about mixing up the green glass with some clear or white ones?

I like the green glass jewelery better.  I think the dress is so young and fresh that the jewelerly should be fun too. Mixing up the different shades of green so its not all the same color as the dress will make it look great.

My preference it the green glass, but with those bm dresses, I think it might be too much green. So for your answer, I pick pearls.
And I think that is a cute idea for your kiddos to make the candy buffet signs.

I pick pearls. Green necklaces will just be too much green IMO.

I like the pearl and ribbon idea. I think that will look really good with the dress.

I like the idea of having the kids do the candy signs. and maybe you could have them cut it out with those fancy scissors. Not sure the age of your kids....

I like the pearl... I think it would just look classier and more elegant and I just find the green glass not as nice... however if it were me I would do something like a nice silver chain with then a little tear drop of a green stone... cute fun and simple! :)

I think the pearls with ribbon would be good.  Since the dress is very structured looking in style, I think the consistency of the pearls would go better than the mixed shapes of the glass.  I do like Elleh's idea of having a green glass pendant of sorts mixed in with the pearls though.

I like Elle's idea too.  I was originally thinking of the green glass because we're using green glass in our centerpieces.  I think those pearl necklaces with the ribbon ties look really cool, but I am almost afraid it would be TOO formal for my wedding.  Also, the girls might wear their hair down, which would mean, for 2 of the 3, the ribbon would be covered up...  sigh.  I still don't know what to do.
I forgot to add about the kids' writing, they all can write very legibly.  In fact, they can probably write way better than they can draw pictures, lol.  Although I do like the idea of them drawing pics of me getting married!  Cute!

I like the glass beads. Though to break it up a bit you could do different shades of green with another color like blue or actual clear glass. Personally I feel like pearls would be too structured and boring.

I usually get good ideas going into my fav bead shop. So that might be something you take a second to do and go find some beads you really like. Just a suggestion.

You could always mix in some non-cultured pearls, ie freshwater which is lumpy and oval usually, as a non-green with the glass.
