Help put my fears to rest! PIP

I purchased this wedding gown in July. Now I'm having second thoughts.

I think my problem has become the ruching, which I was never a fan of before I shopped around, and maybe because it's not the traditional "bridal" look.

Although the ruching makes my body look great, I'm now not so sure about it.

This is the dress I've been obsessing over for the past week. I'm not so sure if I should just go try it on... and if don't like it as much as my dress, I know I'm just having the "normal" dress regret a lot of women have.

Or maybe I will fall in love with the gown and exchange the one I have for it.

Or if I should quit thinking about it, and just accept the fact that I already have a dress hanging in my closet and move on with other things.

  • Ruching is very popular in wedding gowns-- take a look in any bridal magazine and you'll see dozens of dresses with ruching! Mine has a bit as well. It's super flattering!
The 2nd dress looks very traditional, so if that's the look you want, then go for it if you have the $.. there's nothing wrong with changing your mind. Honestly, no matter which you pick, you're guaranteed tons of compliments, so you can't lose!

  • I seriously almost bought the first dress, but another one won out, but only by a little LOL!

You should try the dress you bought on again.  You may be surprised with how much you love it.

Also, stop looking at dresses.  Dresses are like FI, there are always other fish/dresses in the sea but you don't say yes then keep looking do you?

  • I LOVE the back detail on the first dress! I have never thought of rouching as "non-traditional."  My dress has it and so did several of the dresses I tried on. Like PP said - go try it on again. Sometimes you just need to see it again to be sure. If you loved it before - you will love it again.

  • I love the first dress. the back is sooo different and I love it
  • I actually think the first dress is gorgeous! You have to stick with your choice!
  • Rouching is pretty and it's especially great for brides who want their stomach area to look smaller than it is.  Also the back of your dress is stunning!  I think your dress is perfect.  I'd avoid looking at other dresses. :)
  • My dress has rouching, and I love it because it hides imperfections. It's 100% normal to have dress regret- I did, and then I came to my senses and realized that I love my dress!

  • Personally I think your original dress is way prettier. You can't compete with a fabulous back like that.
  • I honestly find your first dress to be much more gorgeous. That back is A-MAZING. Will look so good in your pics!
  • I love the 1st one!

  • Stop looking around!!!! I put a deposit down and the thought popped into my mind a few times.  Go with your first instinct - I really like the 1st dress, I feel like I've seen the 2nd dress before.
  • You have to STOP looking. I am a big fan of ruching. It's super flattering on everyone.

  • I love the first one!  And like PPs said, stop looking =]  It has a gorgeous back and is simple enough for you to wear some real statement jewelry/headpieces.

  • The second dress just doesn't compare to the one you purchased. You will be absolutely beautiful in the first dress!
