Wow, what I have gone through to get my wedding shoes...
I was originally in love with the old Christian Louboutin No Prive's that are peep-toe slingbacks with chunky glitter. But when I asked myself if I should order them "for the future" a few years ago, I decided against it.
Fast forward to getting engaged this past fall and wishing I had the shoes. They were no longer available, so I searched high and low and compromised on the same style in gold and silver (no glitter) from eBay.
Well, after realizing that I didn't like the gold on them and they didn't look good with my dress, I was stuck with shoes that were slightly too big and I couldn't even walk in them. I spent months relisting them and finally got half of what I paid.
When I saw the Manolo Blahnik Swan shoes in Breaking Dawn, I knew I had to have them. I pre-ordered them from Neiman Marcus' website and patiently waited. They were supposed to get here this week.
Well, I got a call last week that the shoes would be delayed, indefinitely... After speaking to someone today, I learned that the order could even be canceled. With fittings in the future and an already difficult shoe search, I wasn't taking any chances.
I found that the CL No Prive's were back in a non-chunky glitter and I called a Neiman Marcus about thirty miles from my house (clothing stores are closed on Sundays by my house). They would save me a half size smaller than the size I got off of eBay. I drove down there and tried them on. They were more comfortable than the bigger size but still not the best for walking in a bulky dress.
Much to my surprise, I saw my white Swan shoes sitting on the shelf. In disbelief and ready for disappointment I asked for my size. They had plenty! So I got them! And they are MUCH easier to walk in than the CL's! Phew!! I found my dress in fifteen minutes... It took me six months to find my shoes, but I got them!!
