Annoyed with Florist!!! (LONG!!)

So I'm going to rant for awhile !!! Sorry for the bridezilla moment !!! LoL

On july 14th I contacted all my vendors via e-mail just to check in since I really haven't spoken to any of them since we booked them over a year ago. All of them contacted me within a day or two except our florist.

I wanted to get ahold of our florist the most just because when we meet with him the first time it was over a year ago and alot has changed within that year. We added a bridal party and a whole lot changed with the centerpeices because when we did our trial with him I didn't really like it so we changed alot of it, but nothing was ever talked about how much more it was going to cost us. So as of right know I have no clue how much we owe our florist.

So with all of that said I tried to contact him thru the phone on the 19th. An assistant answered and said he was out and that she would give him the message and he would call me back same day. NOTHING

I understand that alot of vendors our busy and it is wedding season, but ALL my other vendors got back to me  within reasonable time why couldn't he ?? right??

So then on the 22nd I e-mailed him letting him know that is was quit rude that he hadn't gotten back to me and how upset I was for not knowing details on cetain things.

He finally called me the next day which was releaving. Since I was so anxious to find out how much we still owe him and more details, but all he told me is that he would e-mail me the new proposal  A.S.A.P and we would have our final meeting 2 weeks before the wedding. I said that was fine and that was that. Mind you this was early friday morning. NOTHING FRIDAY !!!  NOTHING SATURDAY!!! NOTHING SUNDAY !!! NOTHING MONDAY !!!!

I'M SOOOOO ANNOYED !!

I don't even know how much we owe this guy and we are 2 months away. WHAT THE HECK !!!!
I'm starting to maybe think if I can rely on this guy!! we gave him a deposit of $550.00 and from the proposal over a year ago we still owe him $2300.00 ( which is not right since things have changed).Should we try to find someone cheaper and just let go of that $550.00 deposit or am I being a total bridezilla and should give him a week or so ???

PLEASE HELP

I would call him and politely remind him that he owed you your new proposal four days ago.  If he's not there to talk to make sure you leave a message with who ever and tell them that you are expecting the proposal by the end of the day.

I agree with Jagore!  Good luck!  I hope it all works out for you!

Honestly I think you booked way too early(I can see booking a venue a year in advance but not a florist).  I don't think you should try to give up and take your money elsewhere, but if the guy is a busy florist, he doesn't really even want to know you exist until like 2-3 weeks before your wedding when he sits down and has to order your flowers from the wholesaler.  Right now he's probably dealing with all the other brides he's got up.

The cost of the contract is important, and I agree with you there, that if changes have been made he needs to revise the proposal, because it may be you may be able to come up with a more competitive bid.

Just keep trying to contact him. Don't be a nag, but make it clear that this has to do with the budget/bottom line and wether or not they want your business.

Um, do you really think that getting after your vendor like that is going to make them want to work hard for you and give you a cost effective contract for your additions? Sorry, but I feel like sending them this message is a recipe for disaster.

I think you should continue to email him or call him...and explain (in a polite way) you have a budget and you need to keep things in budget and that's why you are being persistent in knowig the total cost of the flowers.

I wouldn't just blow $550. In a sense that's a lot the day is approaching quickly and the $ int he accts seems to be getting smaller by the day.

Be patient...everything will pan out perfectly!Wink

Your wedding is in two months?  I don't think most vendors really finalize thing until one month in advance.  Do you even know how many tables you are having yet?  The proposal could still change depending on the number of guests.  Also, I wouldn't expect a poposal on a Saturday or Sunday...they probably have events or--might actaully like a day off.  If you requested a new proposal, I do think they should get back to you within 3-4 business days or so....if a week passes, then I would start to worry.

I would call them again. It's wedding season and I'm sre they are busy. That's not a good excuse but we're all human and make mistakes. Give them a chance but explain to them your frustration.
