Just Engaged in NJ - Pls help w/ DJ's & Photographersss!!!

Hiiii Ladiesss...

I just got engaged on NYE and I desperately need help with vendors!

I already booked all the venues but am lost on how to find the best DJ
and Photographer and Video Guy for the money.  I really prefer the more
contemporary and modern photos and all I've seen online so far is very
much old school.

Pleaseee any suggestions towards the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

Also know any really good henna ladiess...???

Thankkkssss in advance for your help!!! : )

Congratulations and welcome to the boards!

You sound like you've got a lot done in just two weeks, that's great!

I would highly recommend my photographer (I posted a link to pictures a few posts down) Sandeep Ingale of Bestphotog. He's a great person and takes wonderful photographs.

As for DJ's, I would recommend ours as well. I suggested a number of vendors in this post as did others:

    Hope that helps!

Hey...I'm also new to the boards and had a similar issue. Through references, I found dj sunny (djsunny.com) for photography and simran studios (simranstudios.com) for photographer/video.
    Hope it helps !

    Thanksss girlsss for the help..!

Some of the names you all mentioned are familiar

For DJ's I am looking at Gaurav, DJ Sunny, Dhol Experience, DJ Insomnia and Raj Gulati so far.

For photgoraphers I saw twin prod. for video and for still I am looking at Salwa Photography whom is non-desi and heard of Sem Thakhar and Yesh Mehta.  I will definitely look into panday and bestphotog now too.  : )

Has anyone used Shobha Ji as a decorator???  She's in the s. jersey / pa area but I heard she's one of the best...

Shoba did my friend's wedding a while back...she does an AMAZING JOB!!! But I would be very careful with her, she double books her customers and tried to make my friend pay "extra" after all was said for her labor for set-up...which some of her friends and cousins did most of...

VIGI Designs does video and photography as well

Wow Twin Prod video is great but super pricey!  They start at $6800 for just one video camera for the wedding and reception.  Weddings are definitely pricey!  I mean how do you say to yourself yes I will spend 25 k on the reception venue, 7 K on photographer, 7 k on video, 5-10 K on decorations and thats just the bare minimum not including clothes and jewels and etc...OMG!!!

    Hey SimRoy,

I tried to google Sem Thakar and Yesh Mehta but had no luck. Do you have links to their websites? I am looking for photographers and Photog is not available on my date. Thanks!

    Hi...

My uncle recommended these guys and I also could not google them!  That search went w/out any fruitful results.  Are you only looking into desi vendors?  What area are you in?  I am not looking into non-desi vendors w/ a bit more creative and artistic ability w/ a more modern/contemporary flare and found a great guy in Philadelphia that  does the NJ area too.  He does both photo and video for amazing package prices!

IMO, DJ Guarav is the way to go.  He has DJ'd at mega clubs in New York/D.C./Miami, etc. OFTEN and can really work the crowd.  He has an expansive knowledge of hip hop and music generally.  Quite impressive.  Just as impressive is his professionalism -- you would be hard pressed to find a nicer/more professional DJ.  He has very good speaking skills and can serve as an energetic MC (which is a skill that is so important and SO overlooked).  Which brings me to my last point -- this guy has a ton of energy and enthusiasm.

I knew him from high school... met with him once (and only him) and booked him on the spot.  And I am SUPER picky.  He is the first vendor about whom I have been truly excited.  Part of the reason I picked him is because of his sample work (he can email you a video) and glowing reviews from people with trusted opinions in NJ.

With all that said... he might be a tad on the pricier side.  Needless to say, I consider it money well spent.

    Here's his info: http://www.djgaurav.com/

Talk to him!  You won't regret it.  If you happen to remember, please tell him that Malvika recommended him :) :)

    Hi,

I was wondering who you ended up choosing? I'm looking at the same DJs as well.
