Hi guys we are struggelng to find a first dance song sooo I thought the best idea would be to hear some real ideas people have thought about or are using. Let me know what you think!? We are pretty open to any types of music.
We went retro and used As Time Goes By from Casablanca
We also had the DJ play the first dance songs for our bridal party during the reception. Every else was already married. These included Freebird (Lynryd Skynrd), Paper Moon (From the movie of the same name), Fly me to the Moon (Frank Sinatra), Ain't No Sunshine When she's Gone (Bill Withers), All I need is You (U2), Come Away with me (Norah Jones), At Last (Etta James) and I'm so Happy when I dance with you (Beatles)
We're planning to use "You're the Inspiration" by Chicago, but might switch to "Night and Day" (by Cole Porter, the Frank Sinatra version) if it's easier to choreograph.
I picked this song out back when I was first a bridesmaid years ago and still love it. It suits me and my man ... At the Beginning by Richard Marx and Donna Lewis
We've decided to use "we are man and wife" by Michelle Featherstone...Our other options were "make me whole" by Amel Larriux...Lucky by jason mraz and colbie calliat...Hope this helps!
La Vie en Rose by Louis Armstrong......my fiance is playing the intro on his trumpet and then were dacing.. he did it for my birthday a few years back when we were in a bit of a rocky point at a hotel room wearing a suit overlooking NIagara Falls
we are dancing to "this year's love" by David Gray...Everytime we listen to it we smile At first we thought about "in your eyes" by peter Gabriel but then my FI heard David Gray and that was it!
We have a few different ideas... At Last by Etta James, Maroon 5's version of The Way You Look Tonight, Copeland's version of Take My Breath Away, or Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol...
We are actually going to have ours to the bruno Mars song "Just The Way you are". My fiance says he is reminded of me when he hears this song and he wanted it in the wedding, since the music was picked for the ceremony already we decided to use it for our first dance.
"Faith Hope and Love are some good things he gave us, and the greatest is Love"

Currently we're considering "Everything" by Michael Buble (our favorite artist) - which is a fast paced song so we want to take dance lessons and have them choreograph a dance to that.

My FI proposed to me using a line from Train's song "Marry Me" so there was no question I wanted that as the song we use for our first dance.
"I cross my heart" George Strait, I love that song.

We are leaning toward "I Will Be Here" by Steven Curtis Chapman and having our soloist sing it.
