I posted on here about a month or 2 ago that my grandfather had had a massive stroke and it wasn't looking good. Thankfully he's stablized, but he'll never be able to return home since he'd have to climb the stairs to use the shower and is still paralyzed for the most part on his left side. My dad is taking my grandmother to the lawyer's office tomorrow to try and make further arrangements which is going to be really hard on her. She's adjusting well to not having him at home and has become more self sufficient, but it's really tough on her not to have her husband of over 62 years around the house anymore. So continued prayers for my grandfather's recovery are much appreciated.
Also, my brother graduated from the marines last week (so proud!) and one of his platoon "brothers" from basic training went back to a special training and lost his leg in an explosion during an exercise. I just feel so awful, the poor kid just finished basic training and he's already disabled. My brother is really upset and taking it really hard. My mom said he used to go to church on Sundays with him and their bunks were close to each other in the barracks so they were pretty close. Prayers for his friend and everyone who cares about him would also be much appreciated.
And finally... my poor mom who has a ton of health problems that I won't bore you with the details right now ended up in the ER on Saturday night after attending a few picnics and thought she had food poisoning. They gave her IV fluids and nausea meds to re-hydrate her and help her stop throwing up. Well she went home Sunday afternoon and was doing better and took Monday off from work to continue to rest and this morning on her way to work she started to feel light headed and nauseous again. Thankfully, she's a nurse at the hospital she was admitted to over the weekend and the doctor she works for told her to go back to the ER to get more fluids. They admitted her and said it was definitely a bacterial infection so they're giving her more IV fluids and antibiotics to hopefully banish the bad bacteria from her system. Prayers for her comfort and quick recovery would be great! She's been through enough over the years and I hate to see her suffering.
