I am getting  getting married and having my reception at the Madison Beach Hotel.
Just wondering if anyone else is?

    Congrats! I'm not but I'm from the area.  When is the construction scheduled to be done?

    It will be open for business in March 2011.  The first wedding is in May.
    I can't wait.  We will be having a hard hat walk through in a few months.

    Ha, I'm gonna make a note to tell DH.  When we got engaged last October, he was really drawn to that venue and was so sad to learn it wouldn't be open in time for our July '10 wedding.  (We ended up getting married in New Haven and had our reception at Lighthouse Point).  I haven't seen the hotel in person, but it looks like such a charming place!

    I am scheduled for the May wedding at the Madison Beach Hotel. We just drove past the place this weekend... I'm a little nervous about the construction progress. When is yours scheduled?

    My FI and I are going to a do a drive-by this weekend and check it out from the outside.  Looks beautiful on the Web site.  I had a quick chat with Beth today, and it's pricier than I was hoping for per person, but depending on what that exactly includes, it might fit into our budget (she said she'd be e-mailing me the details). 

    We're very recently engaged, so I'm like a sponge right now, soaking up information from all corners. :)  Missmhoward and kas445, what made you choose the Madison????

    I found out just before Thanksgiving that MBH will NOT be open for my May wedding. After a few talks with Beth we have decided to go a different direction. I wouldn't recommend booking a wedding there before August 2011.

    Fortunately we discovered the resteraunt at the top of the Omni New Haven has our date open. It has great views of both New Haven, and the sound.

    Thank you for the news.  I just emailed Beth to find out what is going on.

    I am freaking out.  I chose the MBH because it is on the water and it is not

    a wedding factory.  We love the rock formations in the water.  When  it is done,

    I know it will be beautiful.  I am now a nervous wreck.

    kas445 - Glad you were able to find another venue with your date open, and the Omni sounds like a wonderful spot!

    missmhoward - Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

    I think I'll be taking MBH off my list of potential venues..................

    Is anyone (or has anyone!) having a ton of problems with the Madison Beach Hotel?  We have been trying to book our summer 2012 wedding there since early this past July amidst what can only be best described as major disorganization, complete lack of communication, and blatant unprofessionalism. The MBH (now managed by Distinctive Hospitality Group) treats their clients very unethically and has been very deceptive throughout this nightmare of a process...I have a few reporters interested in doing a story on this, so are there any other brides/would-be brides out there who are interested in sharing their Madison Beach Hotel horror story?  Please post!

    Intrigued by the list of responses. We signed our booking contract June 2011. for our May 27, 2012 wedding. Beth was decent in returning our emails and tired to fit us in whenever she could to allow us a chance to visit. We chose MBH after almost signing a contract with Guilford Yacht Club, but were turned off by GYC's coordinator.
    We recently received and email, 3 days ago actually to set up a time to begin wedding planning with her. Surprised that it didnt come from Beth, but since she hasnt responded to any emails since before the holidays, I shouldve known something was up.
    Elizabeth (new planner) was able to set up an appointment for us tomorrow 2.11.12 to start working on details. I am scared reading the last few posts that others arent having a decent experience.

    I will let you know after our meeting tomorrow how things go.

    Hi,

    I've been experiencing the same problems and they only got worse after this weekend when we visited. Are you still having trouble or has communication gotten better for you?
