Veil Question

I am considering wearing a veil...now I know I don't want the veil that goes forever past my train but I want one that is at least to my behind. Now here is the deal...WHAT IS THE POINT OF THE VIEL COVERING THE FACE?  Are you covering your face or not?

Re: Veil Question

  • At first I wanted a birdcage veil but it doesnt match my dress. So im just wearing a blinged out head band. Now as for wearing the veil over your face..in the olden days its was for the meaning of purity and when your hubby lifts it giving him property of you . But now I think girls do it for the look. lol So if you want to do it I say go for it !

Noo veil over the face !
  • Girl I don't think I will be doing that! I thought that was the meaning but wasn't 100% sure! Thanks!
  • the tradition of the veil has to do with a hodge podge of stuff from various cultures.  In some it is a protective shield that wards evil spirits off a bride.  in some where marrriages are arranged, it's the screen that blocks the bride's face from her husband's view - because even today in arranged marriages the first time the meet is at the altar.   in still others it symbolizes purity and the act of being *given* by your father to your husband - that's why your dad is supposed to lift the veil.   personally, depending on the dress I just like the look.   I was gonna wear one but that's because of my existing grace kelly complex.
  • lol..right..Im sumitting to be your wife but not your property and I den popped out 2 babies so aint no purity over this way ! lol

<div>LOL ok cool....I didnt try one on with the blusher and never thought about it until last night Bae and I were watching Keyshia and my daughter asked me about wearing one</div>
  • I'm doing a birdcage one. I have a thing about too much stuff in my face. I already won't be able to see because I don't wear contacts and I'm not wearing my glasses.
