VENT: DB Nashua LONG

I am still fuming over my trip to DB earlier today.  I have never had such crappy service anywhere in my life.  I used to work retail and I was just dumb-founded.  So here is the story.

I went in earlier for two reasons: 1 to pick up my sister's BM dress 2 to simply ask what size slip I had tried on (want to find one cheaper online).  First, I stood in line for 15-20 minutes before even being helped.  There was one girl at the desk and she was helping someone on the phone.  No one else was around.  Finally two others (a guy who was the runner and some other girl- both useless) came to help out.  When I finally got up and it was my turn, the main girl sent the guy to get the dress out back.  Then she left to help another person.  The girl before me was still being helped by the guy because they couldn't find her shoes.  He came back after 10 minutes without the shoes or dress.  Then he left again to find the shoes ...not the dress.  So I waited another 10 minutes before another consultant came up and went to get my dress.  Come to find out, the two helpers were brand new and had no access to any codes to ring the registers and they had no idea where anything was.  If I heard one more time that they were new (as they kept telling us) and that they knew nothing, I was going to scream.  I was in there for almost an hour just to quickly pick up a dress.  The line (if anyone has ever been to that DB) was from the main checkout desk past the doors and into the wedding dresses.  There were about 20 people in line by the time I left.  Arghhh...ok vent done.

I'm sorry you had such a bad experience! It stinks and I wish I could say I've heard more positive stories about DB, but I was not impressed with how they treated my sister. She found a beautiful dress she loved, so I guess that's really all that matters.

Hope things get better with DB in the months to come!

I got my dress from there and they were great.  When we went for the BM dresses, we barely saw the consultant.  She was way overbooked.  We actually had to find her many times.  Today, just put me over the top.  I was just glad that I am done with them.  We are using a private seamstress so now we are done with that store.

I went there and hated it.  The consultant barely paid any attention to me and kept bringing me back more of what I said I hated.  I would tell her what I liked and if they didn't have it in my size she just nodded her head and said, "Oh we don't have that in stock in your size."  I was much happier at Andrea's Bridal here in Rochester.  Everyone that I have talked with has had complaints about the Nashua store.  Oh well it worked out better for me anyway!

Yeah if I hadn't picked and paid for the dress yet, we would have gone elsewhere but it's done now.

I had a horrible experience at the Nashua store too. I went in with a list of dresses off of their site to try on. My consultant brought me none of them. She brought me everything, I did not want and was not helpful at all. To top it all off, she was going on and on about her ex and their child issues. I was like WTF??
I did go to the DB in Danvers and had a terrific experience. My consultant All was terrific! I found my dress and my bridesmaid found theirs too. She was super helpful, and had some great ideas. I would highly recommend her!

I can echo the poor service in Nashua. Thank goodness for my friend who I took with me when I looked for my gown. My girl never zipped a zipper, clipped a clip, and I felt she was just not present. When I went back to try on BM dresses with FI's sister I was crushed to see they put me with the same attendant. This time she was worse. I had to pull everything, and had to track her down when I couldn't find something.

BUT, worse than all of that times a million and ten, was the woman who was in charge of my alterations, Irene. AVOID HER LIKE THE PLAGUE. I'm petite so I ordered my gown without a train, I thought I wanted a straight cut across the bottom of my dress. Just hemmed up all the way around. She kept telling me I couldn't "alter the integrity of the dress". In whatever accent she has, she kept telling me "designer want train. designer make train. your dress have train" Except there's a big tag on my dress that says it in fact does not have a train!!!! Wow, this just reminded me of how frustrating that whole situation was. Needless to say, I got stuck with a 5 point under bustle that I'm not happy with, there's loose beading that she says she can't do a single thing about, and when she sewed in the cups it altered the look of the front of the dress. Oh the horror or Irene. DO NOT let her touch anything that matters to you. :(

I had a horrible customer service experience with them as well.  I did purchase my dress there because I loved the dress...but I wasnt happy with my expeirence at all.  The good thing is that they send me surveys all of the time now, so I have the opportunity to bash them on those.
I did bring my daughter there for her flower girl dress and they were wonderful at that time...I think I had a manager or something helping me...plus my daughter is loveable and adorable, so that helped!

I had a pretty crummy experience there as well. I bought my dress from Marry and Tux, and decided to look both there and at DB for bridesmaid dresses. My girls and I made appointments for both places, and started at M&T. They were wonderful there, I had the same consultant who worked with me when I got my dress, and she was wonderful with the girls. We found a dress that everyone seemed to like, but wanted to check out DB before we committed.

So we headed down for our appointment, and we got in there and there was no one to be found to let them know we were there. So I stood in line with several other girls and their families while we waited for someone to show up at the desk. My girls and mom wandered around looking at dresses while I waited. Finally, after like 15-20 minutes of waiting, a girl came out, I told her I had an appointment and she couldn't find my paperwork. Finally she did, I filled a couple things out, then she said that someone would be with me in a little bit to go look at dresses. By that time, the girls were through looking and hadn't found something they liked. When I told them that we'd have to wait to see anyone they decided it wasn't worth it and I told the girl I had checked in with that we had to leave.

My mom did have a good experience though and found the dress she'll be wearing for my wedding. :-)

I actually had a good experience there when i purchased my dress. My consultant was absolutely wonderful, and i don't know how she stays that way in that place.

Their service can be very slow though, if you are going to pick something up.

When I went to get my wedding dress with my mom....my consultant was fantastic (then again i went during the day on a weekday).  She never left my side.  I loved her (Carol)  It was my experiences on a weekend that were hell.  Way overbooked.  SO my advice from experience is if you decide to go with DB, plan on a work day.  Take the day off of work and book the first appointment of the day.  It is worth it.

I had the worst experience.  My family lives in a different state.  My Mother and Grandmother had told me to make double appointments to look at dresses )when I was supposed to be married at an earlier date.)  The first on my own to check out what I liked and the second so they could come with me.  When I told the girls at the desk that I was going to be alone all I got was a dirty look from one, a sly remark passed on to the one behind her and a laugh from that one.  I left and called and let them have it after that.  They made me feel like crap because I didn't have anyone with me and that they didn't want to put in any effort to help a customer.

I had the worst experience too. They kept ordering my dress in the wrong size, or the wrong color, or once it came in and the zipper was already broken. And really, it was my wedding gown and I was so super pissed that this was a six month process between ordering and reordering because they kept messing up. Ugggggh, just thinking about it makes me all fired up. After being SO mad that they kept me waiting and kept making mistakes on my dress, I ended up asking for a refund, which they say they don't do, but apparently if they screw up good enough they do because they gave me a full refund. I tried to explain that this is my wedding, and after they already messed up so many times I have no faith that I can trust them with something so important.
