steaming the dress

Ok my wedding isn't until October, but one of my bridesmaids got this idea in my head and now I'm kind of worried.
I'm in NY so I will be picking my dress up here and flying down with it.  I was planning on brining it with me on the plane, but I know that Kleinfeld's will also put it in a suitcase for you if you want them too.  Do you think that I will need to have my dress resteamed once I get to FL?
Girls who have travelled with their dresses please let me know what you did?

    I had to have my dress re-steamed. Mine was silk though and wrinkled easily, so it could depend on the fabric though.  I even had to have it re-steamed just from the car ride from my parent's house to the venue.

    I flew with mine from Seattle (carried on and shoved in the coat closet on the plane b/c my mom was too nervous that UPS would lose it). When we got to Sarasota I had it steamed at a dry cleaners that a bridal shop recommended to me, I think it was about $50.

    I actually use the good old fashioned keep in the bathroom for days and let the shower steam it, then hold an iron in the air and hit "steam".  Just a suggestion.
