Marriage license

I was sitting here doing wedding stuff when i realized that there is only 48 days until our wedding day which means here in MA we can go get our marriage license!!

FI and I decided we'd go Tuesday as there valid for 60days!! This is making it all the more real!!

Im soo excited!
Have any of you guys gotten yours yet? If not are you planning on doing it soon or waiting until closer to the wedding date?

Re: Marriage license

  • In Wisconsin, the license is only valid for 30 days, so we are waiting until early August.
  • In Minnesota they are valid for 6 months. We got ours a couple weeks ago.
  • In PA it is good for 60 days also. I got mine on Tuesday. It definitiely made it real.

  • We are going in two weeks because in NJ its valid only for 30 days
  • We are getting ours on July 21st before we leave for a weekend trip to WI. Ours are valid for 60 days, but the courthouse hours are only when FI and I are at work. So we have to take a day or afternoon off to go get it.
  • We're a destination wedding, so we'll be getting it that week (which makes me nervous...)

  • We have 3 months in RI so we got ours when we were both on vacation from work just under 2 weeks ago. It does make it so real.

Where are the NJ brides getting the 30 day rule?   State website shows valid for 6 months.

  • We are out of state from where we are getting married...so we are getting it the Monday before our wedding...talk about stressful!

  • Lobster... same here.. why isn't there just a universal one for the US??? seems kinda silly. We have to wait for the Thursday before bc FI won't be in town... and we'll both need to be there to fill it out... grrr

  • Any time we can get a moment, we plan on getting ours! Unfortunately, the office hours and my FI's work hours are totally the same. We've done the online paperwork- twice now....- it's only valid for three weeks and so far he hasn't been able to get a non-holiday weekday off within the sixty day period, trying to save up vacation days for the wedding.
