I made a trip back to the 'burgh for a long weekend and got quite a bit accomplished! My mom makes cakes so she made a sample (unfortunately ran out of time to decorate) so I got to do a taste test and bring some home for my DF. I must say it's quite delicious! Strawberry filling in an almond cake with buttercream icing! YUM:P
I also made my poor 17 year old sister help me tie teeny tiny bows to be glued onto little bells for guests to ring as we exit the church. She's such a good sport! Too bad for me, I way underestimated how many more bows I needed and now I'm back in VA to finish approx 70 more bows by myself. Booooo!
On Monday, I met with the florist, Jan from McCauslen Florist in Weirton, WV. I could've cared less about the flowers before, but I'm super excited to see it all come together now! The centerpiece is a very very very rough idea of what they will look like. I purchased the candelabras online, so the florist will add a flower or two or three to each arm and they will vary with peach roses and carnations. I also am covering my votives with peach lace.
