    I think the knot checklist suggested to send these out one month in advance.

    We sent ours out about 2-3 weeks in advance but only wedding party was included so they basically already knew the deets. If you are inviting out of town folks who are guests or not in-tune to the wedding plan you might want to give them a 6-8 week notice of at least the bare minimum details so they can make the proper arrangements if they plan to attend.
