Let's talk apps...What do you fancy?

My mother, is on this "let's make a menu 97 times to see how much everything will cost" kick.

We're disagreeing on which apps to have.  We have on the guest list 268 guests.

We are doing a veggie, cheese and fruit display.
She wants an antipasto station (I think this is overkill.  Its like a 2nd meal)

We'll be choosing between 4-5 passed apps with a family style seated dinner, desert, and cake with coffieeto follow.

What is your top 5 choices when it comes to apps.  What do you hope they have when you attend weddings?

I absolutely love bruschetta! Mini quiches are good and so are stuffed mushrooms as long as they don't contain seafood (allergic). Chicken skewers, tomato & mozzeralla in balsamic vinegar and oil, proscuitto wrapped melon, etc..

I know a lot of seafood eaters love shrimp cocktail, coconut shrimp, crab cakes, etc... but I'm allergic to shellfish and you have to keep certain allergies in mind. Make sure seafood items are marked as so, and make sure you have plenty of options for non-seafood eaters.

We had mini brie and apple quesadillas which were amazing. Bruschetta, fried ravioli, mushrooms, pretty much anything stuffed with cheese...

I love almost everything everyone mentioned above. Ditto the seafood because I am also allergic. But meatballs, stuffed anything, quesadilla's, mini pizza's, fried ravioli, brushetta are all super yummy.

I get so stressed out about which apps to pick!!

We're having cheese/veggie/antipasta display (this was important to me because its usually the only thing i will eat at other peoples' weddings)

and I think we've narrowed down to:

    -coconut chicken skewers

-bacon wrapped scallops (i don't eat seafood and he doesnt eat pork, but apparently people like these...)

    -veggie stuffed mushrooms

-jerk chicken triangles (FI family is Jamaican so we wanted something familiar for them)

Not sure if this helps, but I think as long as you have at least 1 chicken, 1 veg, and 1 seafood you'll have all your bases covered!
