Airbrush vs. regular makeup?

I've heard mostly good but some not-so-good about the airbrush makeup. Anyone know of the pros and cons of each? My MUA offers the airbrush, but she stated if price was a concern her liquid foundation covers well. Difference is $40. TIA!

i dno't know but i've seen airbrushed makeup and regular makeup and it doesn't look much different to me. i'm sure people have their opinions otherwise but i say regular is just as good.

It definitely depends on your skin, the weather, etc. I had an airbrush trial and it didn't look good on my skin at all. It was sort of...crumbly and highlighted the baby hairs on my face. Traditional makeup has always stayed put on my skin so I went with that.

On the flip side, lots of people rave about airbrush. I've heard it's great for people who tend to get oily or in hot weather (for sweating, etc.).

Does she offer a trial?

She does do a trial. I guess I should have her try the regular first then the airbrush and decide based on that? My skin tends to be dry, especially in winter, but I also do sweat easily (eek! Yes, I just admitted to that!). And you see, my concern is the breaking out - that was the downside to it that I've heard from a few people before. I'm not prone to breakouts, but that doesn't mean I don't.

I used airbrush and had no breakout issues afterwards. Like PP mentioned, it kept me looking fresh all day. My BMs also used the airbrush makeup too. My MUA sprayed the makeup on my shoulders and around my neck down to where the top of my dress was incase I had any tan lines. The makeup did get on the inside sweetheart neckline of my dress. Also had the makeup on my cap sleeves. Did not notice it though till I took dress off at end of the night. I liked it because I did not have to worry about constantly checking my makeup and reapplying anything.

Hmm, I guess it is worth at least considering and testing then. I was starting to get a little worried but do find the idea of not having to worry about the makeup appealing. Thanks for sharing your experience with it!

Haha unforunately I must say yes. I don't know if it was the fact that it was airbrush, the brand used or the makeup artist or what.

I am a HUGE fan of airbrush makeup, my sister has had it done numerous times as well for her job and its actually better for your skin (sorry Champagne that you broke out!) Its water resistant (so sweat reistant) and will last for up to 12 hours, plus because it lays on the skin it allows skin to breath rather than a foundation liquid which seeps into your pores, it also more sanitary.

You said you skin can be dry but your makeup artist should properly moisturize your hair befor applying it and you should be fine. However all this being said each person is different so I would suggest the trial but me personally I think its SOOO much better than have thick liquid makeup then covered up with powder (with the airbrushing you really done feel like you have any makeup on!)

The airbrush makeup made me breakout something horrible. It does look AMAZING though. I would do it again and just suffer a few days after.

I used JillAdair Cosmetics. She did wonderful! JillAdair brings her own staff with her. She will do hair and makeup or just makeup. I had my regular hairstylist do my hair. JillAdair is based out of Anacortes, but will travel. I went to her for trial and she came to hotel for wedding. I found her pricing to be reasonable.
