crucifix blessing

Did any of you ladies have a crucifix for your home blessed during your ceremony? I read about it somewhere and I think we're going to do it, but I'm wondering where in the ceremony it takes place.

    I'd never heard of it before and my priest actually asked us if we would do it and said it was very special.  But he made us promise not to tell anyone so it would be a surprise the day of the wedding.  You say your vows with a hand on the cross, so that you can always go back to that cross in your home to pray to and the strength from your wedding day can carry you through.  I love the idea. (He actually said he hates the Unity candle, and asked us to do this instead).
