Anyone read the books? I just finished the final book.

I am a bit irritated with the entire story. Anyone want to discuss this with me??

I liked the first 2 books, but I did not like the 3rd book. I was distrubed with how the entire story ended. It was depressing and why did they agree on having another hunger games for the Captiol's kids?

I read these awhile ago so forgive me!

I dont remember this part. I agree I enjoyed the first two books but was dissapointed in the third, however I was happy with the final outcome of Peeta and Katniss. I guess i didnt really think about how much i didnt like the third book until i started to talk about it with others.. i was just focused on who Katniss would end up with (I was team Peeta the whole series) so at first I was just happy that was how it ended

I felt like she agreed to it for ulterior purposes to have President Snow and District 13's president (I can't remember her name right now), in one place so she could make sure both died. I don't think she would have actually let it take place.

I actually liked the 3rd book. My only complaint was that the first half dragged on forever and then it felt like they rushed through the second half.

IMO, Katniss voted to have the HG with capitol children so that Coin would trust her. Katniss suspected Coin was responsible for Prim's death, and if she could kill Prim she would definitely kill Katniss so she needed it to look like she was on her side 100%. By the time Snow's assassination took place Katniss realized that Snow wouldn't lie to her and that Coin was just as bad as him. Since the rebel's leader and main supporter of a Capital kids HG was dead, no other HGs took place. It says that part in the epilogue I think.

I read all three a few weeks ago and I was extremely disappointed in the 3rd book! I thought I was the only one. It literally bothered me for weeks how it ended lol The entire book was depressing and just really dragged on. I felt that the characters didn't have as much development as I was expecting and the third book just really made me dislike Katniss so much. I finished all three books in 3 days and the third book just felt like a big let down.

There were some confusing parts that I had to re-read. I know the hunger games did not take place again- but it really bothered me that they even considered it and agreed on it. But now that makes sense, thanks ladies!

I thought the 3rd book was dragging along and it was difficult to stay focused.

When I first started reading the 1st book, I didn't think I could go on because children had to kill each other in order to survive, that was horrible for me. But it was interesting at the same time.

Has anyone seen the movie? I haven't, obviously since we don't have closed captions at the theaters here (in bigger cities, we do).

Movie was great! You ladies just convinced me to go back and read the books. Guess I have something to do on the plane to/from the honeymoon.

I loved the books, and I agree first half of the 3rd book dragged. I was also extremely happy she ended up with Peeta. I wish there would have been more of the second half.

As for the movie I am torn...I feel like there was just so much emotions and build up that just didn't go down for me in the movie. I really need to see it again. With most books that I read and then saw the movie, I go see it multiple times.

Overall I am really sad there were only 3 books and I want more!!!

I did not like the third book - it was EXTREMELY gruesome..I mean some of those deaths down in those underground tunnels were too much for me to even read about - Finnick and Mesalla's in particular made me cringe...:: shudder :: I mean..people's skin melting off? I don't know how they'll make that into a movie - but I honestly may not be able to handle seeing it.

(if anyone has ever seen the first Resident Evil movie - where they get chopped up by the lasers in that room..I am TRAUMATIZED from that part..)

I was not on team Peeta - I was "team Gale "and was WICKED disappointed that he sort of just..disappeared to some random place in District 2. I mean - what the hell - what happened to him?

I felt the ending was super rushed..
