Dessert Table

Im torn on what sort of variety to offer for desserts other than cake/cupcakes.

I have a few choices in mind, but dont know if I should do a little of each, or just pick a few.

I did a dessert table to a friends baby shower.  It included cake (enough for 1 serving per person), decorated sugar cookies, mini cupcakes, chocolate covered oreos, rice crispy treats, salt water taffy, jelly bellies and chocolate malt balls.

I think the more options you have, the more of each option you need because people will want to try everything.  So, if you are having 100 people you need to have enough cake for everyone and at least enough other desserts for each person to have 2.

I vote for pumpkin pie and chocolate chip cookies :)  I don't really see fudge/chocolate as a dessert option (doesn't mean you can't, i just never see it) and i don't really know what red velvet moon thingies are.  I think with cake/cupcakes, cookies, and pie you have a variety of types of dessert!  and i love them all!

If you have cake, you dont need cupcakes too- they are the same thing. I would go with different desserts like the pies, cookies, pasteries, maybe creme brulee, etc

I say if you can do all of them, then do all of them. More options the better.

Maybe do a cookies and milk bar. With chocolate chip cookies and a variety of other choices (oatmeal, peanutbutter, toffee, chocolate etc.). Or you could also do a sampling of mini pies (pumpkin, apple, banana cream etc.).

I'm biased because I am a sweet tooth, so I said all of the above.  I say the more the better. However, I do agreed that having cake and cupcakes would be a waste of budget/space because they are essentially the same. Maybe throw in some chocolate covered strawberries too.

What kind of wedding are you having as that may help to narrow down the items you have?

You could do cookies, truffles, brownies, chocolate fountaing with fruit, rice krispy treats,  marshmellows, pretzels. Two other options are a sunday station or candy bar
